wow dude i think i'll be using your drawing technique from now on. thanks for the video you are the best rite now wish i was doing drawings but unfortunTLY I'm doing chemical techonology. thanks bro.
Thanks for your vids they help lots :3. hope youll check out my videos i have a few drawings up now and will have many in the next few days. Only have one subscriber xD i'm a bit new to youtube.
@maryobrien137 Hey, I would definitely recommend watching 'How to draw eyes' on YouTube by Sycra - and just practice. Try sketching eyes lightly first before going over them in more detail. Good luck.
@tinimissvn Hey, for this tutorial I used the Photoshop brush #48 with Shape Dynamics off and with Other Dynamics on - with Opacity jitter at 0% and control on Pen Pressure & Flow jitter on 0% and control off. I keep these settings with all the brushes I use most of the time - but for hair I turn shape dynamics on. My favourite Photoshop brush is #24. Thanks.
huh you are actually better than I thought you were. I thought you were just a rich kid that has a wacom, but you are a pretty good artist, so I commend you for that.
Do you think its important to do the whole first bit. Like adding all the lines and marking it out, the structual drawing. Could you just straite away draw a face. Iv been doing that and the face is never in proportion....do you think that is the problem, that im not doing the construction lines?
@TheKateyshas Hey, I think the shapes and structural lines at the start are useful, especially if you're a beginner because they will help you get the proportions more accurate. As you practice, you may not need to rely on the initial shapes as much and you could just draw the face straight away but I think it is worth doing the initial structural lines to be more accurate. Thanks.
Hey thanks for this... I've never really drawn anything before but I tried following this and ended up making something that looked... half human! Haha..
I really love sketching and drawing with pencil however I think I'm incredibly stupid when it comes to doing anything online. What kind of advice do you have, if any? I'm really just looking to try and get comfortable with being able to render and such with control online. Maybe my wrists are too flimsy =/
@Maneesa09 Hey, I'm glad you enjoy drawing and drawing with pencil is a great way to practice. I think you would be fine with a tablet. I find drawing on my Cintiq pretty much the same as drawing on paper and most tablets are very good and I don't think you need to worry about your wrists being flimsy. Rendering on a computer is a lot of fun and you will find it easier over time and you can always watch video tutorials online if you get stuck . Thanks, hope that helps.
@Mindroach Hey, to draw a whole picture of something when you only have half of it for reference, I would say try to draw the half you have reference for accurately then experiment (with a light tone) with trying to complete the rest of it, but I would suggest if possible; finding more reference photos or getting photos of something similar (maybe a similar animal) to refer to. I hope that helps:) Thanks.
@TheNitroProductionz Hey, I believe with practice and effort anyone can draw - it's not impossible! Firstly, I would say don't worry about making mistakes. It's OK if your drawing doesn't look quite right to start, just go for it and get down marks and shapes. Also, I would say draw with your arm, don't limit your action to your wrist. Focus on the structure of your drawing to start, not the details. Keep practicing because that's the best way to improve, good luck!
I'm not sure if I should first learn to draw on paper which I assume requires more equipment and skill or just buy a tablet even though it's costly. But everything seems so much easier to learn with a tablet and photoshop seeing as everything you need is already on the software, pencil textures, brushes, colours et.c.
@AvatarTwasCheesy Hey, thanks for the comment. I think drawing on paper is the best way to practice and you really don't need anything more than a pencil and paper! I would recommend you just get a sketchbook and a decent pencil (2B/4B) to start off with to practice your drawing and then if you feel like getting a tablet sometime, you can use those drawing skills you have from sketching on paper to draw on your tablet. Thanks.
@opikse Hey, thanks for your comment. Yeah practice is very important - and no I don't draw with the mouse, I draw with a pen using my Wacom Cintiq tablet.
Great video! You made my decision on buying a graphic tablet much easier!
Which program are you using? If you have time, would you PLEASE do a video on how to draw a whole body? And another one about colouring? that would be so great!
@mynameismikification Hey, thank for your comment. I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 with my Wacom Cintiq 21" UX tablet. I would like to do more tutorials in future but for now if you want help on drawing bodies, check out Sycra on YouTube, he has some excellent videos on drawing bodies. Also for help with colouring, check out Jason Seiler, he uses a very similar technique to me. Thanks:)
you are really freaking good! i want to be a tattoo artist so i hv to learn how to draw better, i hv designed many tattoos for ppl but i want to expand my drawing skills. thank you so much, this has helped a lot!
Hi, I want to know if one can realy acquire those specific skill through practice, or we're talking about talent and inborn skills which require certain imagination?
@890slay Hey, of course you can acquire these skills through practice, even if you think you're not particularly talented at drawing. I've always been drawing and I guess I have a talent for it, but talent doesn't mean anything without hours of practice and developing skill. As Will Smith says: ' Skill is something only developed through hours and hours of beating on your craft'. Just keep practicing and you will get a lot better! Practice, work hard at it & enjoy it, good luck!

@OfficialTobyK Let's say you are given half of an image, like the side view of an animal's face, how would you go about making the image whole?
