I didn't like the movie overall but I enjoyed a few scenes here and there. I know that the critics pretty much destroyed the movie; however, what else can you do? It comes from a smash-and-kill game with zero substance (I enjoyed playing it for 7 hours to the end and then put it on the book shelf forever). I hear, the acting was bad... yeah, not even the best actor in the world could have made this better. It is what it is, a movie with a poor story based on a game with a poor story.

Well, this movei was kinda like Starfox Adventures. It was just fine on it's own. The problems arise when you look at it in terms of a series: Starfox Adventrues has spaceships, lasers, and... magic. It was totally out of place (for a good reason). So while it's good on its own, it doesn't hold up to the other ones, like the DOOM movie. It's really cool, but it's not really DOOM. I think it should have been all in the first person, and the trailers too. Woulda been great.

Besides all of that thing about hell, that they should have made, I think the other mistake of this movie is that Rock should be the one who survives in the end. Beacause only inhuman and brutal person like sarg can go to hell and come out of there alive, not warm-hearted person like Urbans character. No need of a big storyline: portal opens to hell, monsters coming out of it and killing some UAC workers, marines etc. The atmosphere of the game shortly made me to LOVE the quite simple storyline. And this could have been delivered into the movie.
the movie was terrible, the writer obviously fell asleep during biology class, anyone with a 24th chromosome (a tripled chromie) would develop down syndrome, and if that 24th chromie is an alien one injected which aside form being medically impossible, would have no effect as the chromie has to have a double, which is why we have 23 chromies (10 doubles and a triple). even then, all the chromies due is set blueprints for your cells to develop, you would have to be injected at birth.

Favourite bit and least favourite bit- First person sequence, I know it contradicts itself, but it started off really cool and ended up being really silly and over the top. It should have been entirely in first person mode- IMO.

All this movie needed, was hell. Have the same team and reasoning for coming. Attacks, unknown reasoning behind it, the longer they stay the more it converts and all that. Just have at the end, they end up in hell and fight off the Spider Mastermind. THAT would have been something you can call Doom.
Adding your own spice and imagination, you can make that pretty entertaining.

God... that scream at 1:10 is used in about every horror trailer in the 90s, which is weird because in the actual game, one of the sounds the imp makes is used for camels and pigs in about every movie in the 90s. Go stock sound effects!

I enjoyed the movie as well. I've played DOOM 3 and watched the movie so I can say that yes it is different. But I liked how they took it in the other way. Really I think that if they did the whole "teleporter to hell" it would have made the movie to clique (sorry for spelling). I just think that it "has been done" to many times.

Beacause only inhuman and brutal person like sarg can go to hell and come out of there alive, not warm-hearted person like Urbans character. The Rock should have been the one who steps to the hell in the end and destroys everything there. If those things had been done by them this movie would've become a blockbuster. Thumbs up if agree

No need of a big storyline: portal opens to hell, monsters coming out of it and killing some UAC workers, marines etc. The atmosphere of the game shortly made me to LOVE the quite simple storyline. And this could have been delivered into the movie.

the movie was terrible, the writer obviously fell asleep during biology class, anyone with a 24th chromosome (a tripled chromie) would develop down syndrome, and if that 24th chromie is an alien one injected which aside form being medically impossible, would have no effect as the chromie has to have a double, which is why we have 23 chromies (10 doubles and a triple). even then, all the chromies due is set blueprints for your cells to develop, you would have to be injected at birth.

Good thing is, they didn't let this movie out. It had NOTHING to do with the game. It had no marines in the armor( The Icon of DOOM) Didn't even include the cool cyberdemon, it's like they took crap and put together to make a BIG PILE OF SHIT.

Favourite bit and least favourite bit- First person sequence, I know it contradicts itself, but it started off really cool and ended up being really silly and over the top. It should have been entirely in first person mode- IMO.

I remember playing Doom the video game for hours and hours on end and although the movie plot did'nt totally jive with the games, I found it very enjoyable to watch. Who cares if it was sort of similar to an "Alien" remake, I did'nt really give two shits. .
The Rock, ( with that big fucking thermal nuke gun) and gawd, that gorgeous Karl Urban, (who played "Eomer" in LOTR) together in one film was just way too much smexiness for me to ignore.Loved it.

All this movie needed, was hell. Have the same team and reasoning for coming. Attacks, unknown reasoning behind it, the longer they stay the more it converts and all that. Just have at the end, they end up in hell and fight off the Spider Mastermind. THAT would have been something you can call Doom.
Adding your own spice and imagination, you can make that pretty entertaining.

this movie was great i loved it and i confess that it made me jump alot whenever a monster popped out in the theaters, there was action, comedy, horror and a good a good story-line and the FPS style seen was the single best movie moment it modern movie history lol. God... that scream at 1:10 is used in about every horror trailer in the 90s, which is weird because in the actual game, one of the sounds the imp makes is used for camels and pigs in about every movie in the 90s. Go stock sound effects!

I enjoyed the movie as well. I've played DOOM 3 and watched the movie so I can say that yes it is different. But I liked how they took it in the other way. Really I think that if they did the whole "teleporter to hell" it would have made the movie to clique (sorry for spelling). I just think that it "has been done" to many times.
