  • Randy Lambert is back, bigger than ever with a huge new motor. To see his car click on GrumpyAssRacing to view this MEAN MACHINE!!

  • 4 stars short Movie

  • Randy Lambert from Crown Point, Indiana. Friend of my brother. That car makes the ground shake! You feel it before he gets to your house! AWESOME Impala. It IS a true street car. Just not exactly legal with open headers and slicks. LOL!

  • I STILL HAVE THESE VIDS ON VHS AND I STILL WATCH THEM NOW I DRAG RACE RC CARS

  • TRAILER QUEEN STREET MACHINES?

  • I love when the guy says swirling vortex of power, pretty funny, for then..love the older cars so fun, to just look at, unlike new cars

  • i remember this like yesterday, this is what got stoned into street cars. i never want a car i can't drive on the street

  • Most of those were street cars!

Go to an outlaw 10.5 race now and they are promods with smaller tires.

    Nothing street about them.

I was running a race back in 1996 in my camaro and was driving to the track and back home. 30 miles one way.

I ran 6:21 at 111 with mufflers in the eighth mile.

    I drive it everywhere.

These so called street legal cars at the track today won't run 2 miles before they overheat or break a valve spring.

  • wow, wish I coulda bin there, thanks for posting

  • GREAT TIMES

  • I am the original owner / builder of the "Infamous Black Trans AM". I street drove and raced that car all over the Northeast tracks. for many years. Long Island Dragway, Englishtown, Atco, Maple Grove. Street race in Deer Park Long Island and Connecting Highways in Brooklyn. I miss those days and that car. It was way before it's time and really represented what a true ProStreet car was. Stock front frame, 2x3 4 link back 3200lbs 8sec et's.

  • I can remember wanting to take my car to this but not having much cash left over after putting my 572 together, I really wanted to go the next year but by then the cars had already gotten so fast I couldnt afford it. Hot Rod mag had a problem back then with strut cars being street cars, I built my 57 myself from 88-90 specifically for driving on the street, I never had a problem.

    Great video, though

  • street cars have come along way from then to now

  • the thing about it was that u also had really fast street cars too! it was nice seeing all of the wild combinations that people came with!! then take a cruz then run a mid seven with full interior, etc i love pro mod but they should have left it the way it was. if they went to or allowed full tube because the speed was getting too fast they should have stopped there.

  • Boy how times have changed.

  • Tell me about it. Now, Instead of most of the field being made up of backhalved cars like in 92, now they are running Street liscensed, full tube chassied Pro stock or Pro modified cars. That video brought back good memories when I was daily driving an 11 second street car with dreams of one day competing in that event.

  • Jim Treppa was my dad and woulda pwnd if nto for that damned trans, it sat outside our house for years...

  • Thats good shit! Steve Johnson layin down 163 mph!

  • LOVE ALL THOSE CHEVYS.

  • sorry 2 hear about ur dad dallas..they all helped each other between rounds then competed to win against new friends.. thats what racing is all about .. dont know if its true but i heard ur dad gave lane choice 2 Dan Scott after an oil down because Dan had a real shot 2 win .. and ur dad was off the pace... R.I.P...

  • dan was a pretty good guy

  • muito legal les gal, brinca

  • man i got this video on vhs from when it first came out. shows some of the original world's fastest street cars. great video indeed.

  • Yeah..... Stan was my dad. RIP. Stan Shaw and his 57 blown 484 2 stage nitrous. That car was bad ass.

  • Your Dad's car was badass.

  • awesome video there EKF.

    those guys were pioneers...

  • Thanks, yeah they were pioneers.

  • yeah sorry bout your dad man. that red 57 was pretty bad.

  • @DallasShaw1 wow. i was reading about your pops every month in HOT ROD back then!!

your dad is a racing treasure..

  • did they have to run pump gas then as they do now?

  • man! there were big names in this video! mike moran now has one of the fastest 6 seconds cars in the U.S! I remember the C.A.R.S. camaros too. they drove on the streets and hit 8's easy in the 1/4! steve johnson is now indution solutions! rod soubory has the fastest street" vette in the world today and this was one the first "street" vettes he built! oh and last but not least R.I.P to stan shaw and of course innovator, pro 5.0/FFW legend steve grebeck. great video!
