I like this better than the original with Johnny Cash. Joaquin Phoniex was amazing in the film .I think he is better looking than Cash too He really deserved an Oscar but there again Fox was brill in Ray and he got the Oscar.

My dad told me that the characters in this movie were gonna have people sing the songs and they were just gonna lip the words. But it turns out they sang so well, they didnt need anybody to sing for them anymore.

I have found a cover by an Italian rockabilly group called Rockin' Bonnie and the Rot Gut Shots which is pretty good, but that's the only version of the song I have found. @MichaelBallack91 : Eh, no. She's changing from her normal/speaking range into a sort of falsetto/higher range. I know because I can easily recreate her voice in this song. It's very common. I'm not saying their voices are never edited - but her "Let's go" doesn't sound edited to me.. and I've had over a decade of singing experience (and classes).

@MichaelBallack91, you can tell from the other voices in the background that this wasn't a closed studio recording, the reason why you're hearing Joaquin's voice sound like it's reverberating in the mic. You're also hearing the ring of the twang Reese puts in her voice for her portrayal of June Carter. Many country and gospel artists can throw their voice so far into their nose that it'll sound like it actually "rings".
