  • Love your tank.... one question, do you have a black backing to your tank????

  • @Therealmany

It does. It has one side which is black, and the other side is a coral reef scene.

  • i like how you have all the character from finding nemo all you need is the puffer fish

  • looks nice

  • I really like ur tank!...i have seen so many cool ones fancy..expensive and big..but urs is just fresh clean and simple...along with so many other cool color fish..it makes it look elegant...

  • @theprankster5000

You're probably right. She just staked her claim it seemed, no other fish would try to take it from her.

  • Cool tank man.. Ima get back into reef keeping.. I had a 100 gallon reef tank a couple years back .. I spent about $6,000 on it .. And one day I wasn't home and protein skimmer starting sucking up water out of da tank on too da floor .. And it burned out my surge protector so wen I got back home fish and coral where clinging to life .. Dat was da worst day ever.. But I'm gonna start it back up again this month and dis time going big maybe 250 gallon.. Beautiful tank u have keep on reefing...

  • nice tank

  • the clown fish is so cute :3

  • ditch the xenia or your tank will be covered in it i got a 2 inch frag and within a month it was 1 foot by 1 foot it was growing on all of my rocks pom pom xenia looks better and dosnt take over your tank as quick

  • hey when you added the tangs was it all at the same time, if not did you have any problems with them?

  • @jwalker43081

The yellow and blue were at the same time, the yellow eye was after and the Blue always picked on him. The yellow eye died of ich. Usually they will be fine together as long as they are not the same color, but blue's are the aggressive ones out of the differing Tangs.

  • how do you feed the cleaner wrasse?

  • @jlhdza96

The wrasse will pick parasites from the other fish, as well it will eat the food I feed the other fish.

  • none of the fish in there look 'too big for the tank' it looks great

  • Sorry to break it to you but that hippo tang is too large for your tank

  • @UltimateReefTanks not nessecerally if you check out Henry643 he has a regal tang(hippo tang) and is still about 4 inches after about a year i believe. it usually occurs with usually large fish they only grow to the size of there tank.

  • hi can you have a saltwater aquriam with out skimmers or wet and dry filters?

  • @vijomyda u can, but its better to have one so it can remove most of the waste before it turns into ammonia thus making ur tank cleaner. But u can have only a filter( any type) with out a skimmer if u want.

  • @vijomyda dude you need a skimmer...period most people dont have a filter and just use a skimmer and live rock....the skimmer and rock is your filter the wetdry will cause nitrates

  • hi nice tank. i have the same size tank and is been good for more than 2 years. i saw that yours is not drill in tha bottom, and is doing good, mine is.

  • I think I saw a kole tang... I wanna get one.

  • finding nemo :D

  • how can you have 3 firefish in there? i bought one purple fish and it died because my pair of clown kept chasing it. and then i boguht another one . it died in 3 days . i really love the firefish.

  • @silly8oi,

The other two firefish actually killed the third so I ended up with only 2.

  • @silly8oi

my two clowns bullied my firefish as well, i returned one clown (the more aggressive one) and now my firefish comes out much more often

  • You named your blue hippo dory? nice

  • Very Beautiful fish! Nice set up!!Thank you for sharing!! Take care : )

  • What type of coral is that in the background at the begining of the video. By the way sweet tank!

  • @andrewrobin56

    That is a Xenia.

  • Does the curved glass make the aquarium look any different from the front? like does it create a distorted view? Thanks plz rply bak

  • @BLOODYKnuckles2000,

It does make things appear a bit larger than they really are when they are farther back in the tank.

  • Such a beautiful set up. Looks Fantastic! What filtration and skimmer are you running?

  • do midas blenny hide alot or swim around

  • @FallensReef, they swim and it's kind of a snake in water pattern, when mine rests she lays on the plate coral, or when I have one of the fans off she will curl up in it and stick her head out.

  • First-class video with charming admissions! Very well formed aquarium! Fantastic underwater impressions!

  • @Skalar300, Thank you.

  • any strategy in getting three tangs to ci-exist?

  • wow where did you get that blue fish, the same one out of finding nemo, could ya get them in ireland? are the pricey?

  • @MagicialSmoke It's a Regal Tang, or Blue Tang, 100 or more gallon tank is recommended for keeping them, she was about $40.00 US. You could do a Google search on them to get more info.

  • Did you ever have ich?

  • @aykim2188 I have, I used Kick Ich to get rid of it.

  • @mrlurp

Did it not affect your coral...or did you use a QT?

  • @aykim2188 It's safe for corals.

  • @mrlurp / cleaner wrasse?

  • are zoanthids hard to keep?

  • Really nice tank mate just started to change my fowlr to reef still need to get rid of my Niger trigger first lol.I'm thinking of using led lighting as halide just to much to run I have a 5+2+2 . think I will just start with soft corals aren't they easier to run ?

  • Wow so cool. thanks for upping 720p quality. great fish and aquarium

  • @SuperGaryOak

    Thank you!

  • all uneed is just an eel and ill be very jealous of ur tank mate

  • very nice! I am setting up my first reef tank and its a 72 bow. how large of a sump are you using and do you have a refugium? thanx, scott.

  • I am getting the same size tomorrow.

  • I think you have a beautiful aquarium. Nice video, I enjoyed watching.

  • Thank you.

  • Between your Blue Hippo Tang ,Yellow Tang and Kole Tang your tank is way to small for these active swimmers. You can see it in the video how the yellow tang seems to be a bit stressed. Your tank looks good but I think you should upgrade to a 6 footer at the very least.

  • how is a skimmer meant to be set, cuz mine i think doesn't work. The only avalible options for how many bubbles there are/ and the size of the bubbles are, no bubbles at all or loads of bubbles but with that settings the collection cup just fills up with water

  • My skimmer sometimes does that, I set the bubbles so they are just up a bit in the upper chamber. Sometimes when opening or closing it it may not seem like it has been moved but it has, use very small and slight rotations.

  • is it easier to run a saltwater tank or would it be easier to run a freshwater tank

  • Thanks for the question!

They both have their challenges but saltwater is a bit more complicated to start and maintain.

  • Thank you, its working pretty well now, the surface of the water has only some tiny little bubbles and there are a few of them. Thank you, i was about to go to the fish shop and buy a £32 new skimmer. LOL

  • Incredible tank....I'm jealous! I'll get there one day! :) VERY well done.

  • my 72 bow front was free dollars. haha. i got it from an old friend who didn't want it anymore. it's a FOWLR though. i do intend to setup a reef soon...

nice tank anyways. for a reef it could be nicer, especially since you spent 8k. i would've definately work on your aquascaping... hmm. too many fish, too little corals imo.

    peace

  • Why don't you jump in your tank!

  • Because my Blue Tang is hogging all the room.

    ;-)

  • Thats an awesome tank - Nice vid :)

  • Thank you!

  • Lovely tank, how do you deal with nitrates what are they at? I believe the weekly water changes are helping you to keep the nitrates low?

  • Thanks so much for the comment.

Water changes are how Ive been keeping all the levels at their right spots.

  • HI where did u put the power heads in your reef tank? and what kind of koralia power heads u have is it 4 or 2?

  • Im jealous

  • honestly i hate your tank... mostly because it apeers to be modled after finging nemo and your fish are named after the charecters...

  • Thanks for the comment.

If you understand saltwater fish then you will noticed they are all non-aggressive fish so they all get along with each other, but if it were modeled after the movie I would have a star fish and a puffer (which eat live coral by the way) and no live coral. as for their names, yes that movie was awesome and very funny and is one of my favorite movies so you can understand why I chose the names I did.

  • Hey i love your tank. how do you keep your sand nice and sparkly

  • Thank for the comment.

I actually had just added some new substrate the day before I shot this video.

  • Good job man!

  • Cool tank :)

  • awesome to ba u count put a redtail catfish in it

  • well live rock do cost around 8 dollars per pound and he seem to have like 200 pound of it in there...that would cost like 1.7k already....but 8k hmmm Lol

  • I'm getting live rock for .75/lb It's called tufa and I believe it's the smartest way to go.

  • If you have spent $8,000,00 on building that tank you must be doing something wrong!

  • Bought the best of everything.

  • that yellow tang is like " lets swim to this corner now this corner now this corner now this corner oops just pooped a little

  • 8000.00 bucks in it so far??? holy hell!! where is the money at? how much are those fish? EEEK!!!

  • Lol, Ill give you the 411 in a personal message sometime tonight including answers to your other questions, but mostly its the tank, sump, water cooling system and calcium reactor that cost the most.

  • not to be too personal or anything but what was the total cost

  • Oh around $8,000.00.

  • holey shi

  • over crowded

  • Thanks for the comment.

They have been going strong like this for almost 2 years now. What is it that over crowding does?

  • Its not over crowded at all... I dont know what you are talking about.

  • what shrimp was that called

  • There are two types of shrimp in that tank one is a Cleaner Shrimp, that's the one with the white strip down its back, and a Fire Shrimp that's the one with red all over.

  • omg its looks like im diving lol good video

  • nice tank, I love that regal tang

  • question man, I have like 15 pounds of live rock and lately the bottom of my tank (the sand) is turning brown in some spots? Is that normal? My tank has being running for over two weeks

  • My sand does the same thing but also has red algae, Ive been thinking about getting some sand sifting stars to see if they can make a difference.

    Hope that helps.

  • I got a sand sifting star two days ago.. Dont see much of a difference thou.. He always buries himself in the sand.

  • I ENVY YOU MAN!! lol awesome tank!

  • Thank you.

  • gotta give u your dues dude, well done what u have there is a text book example of all the species and the hard work u have obviously put in is well worth it.

    stu

  • good job...i just got an aqua euro and i have a three striped damsel...but im gonna buy some live rock soon

  • opps sorry about the f bomb

  • simply fucking amazing

  • playergame06 is worried about the electric bill lol... He will never be a reefkeeper.

  • Damselfish do bite corals and kill them right?

  • hey how is ur electric bill for a month for this tank

  • Is there anyway you can give me some details on how you maintain it so well and keep it so clean? I mean that tank looks fucking immaculate. I want to start the process (LONG process) of setting up a nice SW tank and was under the impression that maintaining cleanup was much harder than fw tanks.

  • Very nice tank, nice setup too! I love your Hippo Tang.

  • How do you keep the micro bubbles from your skimmer to come into your display tank?

  • I make sure the skimmer goes-outa is facing the opposite direction than the main water intake pump.

But I still get a few micro bubbles from the algae growing in the pipes.

    Hope that helps.

  • You flip the gravity switch on

  • it stays down by itself you retard

  • oh...i forgot to metion...ive had lots of experience with salt and fresh from 5 gallons -210 gallons. =] just tryin to everything ccorrectly this time

  • why only hardy corals?....its a 96 watt light on a 10 gallon tank

  • I would always recommend an easy coral to take care of for a new hobbyist.

  • what fish would u recommend?

  • cool tank...would it be okay to have a 1 inch blue hippo tang in a 10gallon reef?....and also...what about a a yellow tang?

  • no. get a clown or a damsel. yellow tangs will grow to be like 6-8 inches i think. maybe longer.

  • cool look at the neon goby!! I have one too he has been in my thank for 3 years cleaning mostly my Achilles Tang and my black and white butterfly fish but I am kind worried about both of those fish and the death of my neon goby.... its been 3 years alright and the average death of neons are 2 years!!! hope to god that I have it for more years.

  • whats the name of that blue and gray fish

  • That is a cleaner wrasse.

  • beautiful... almost not enough space for the yellow/blue hippo tang. still it seems like you're doing okay. absolutely gorgeous.

  • It's Nemo and Dorry !

  • very nice tank :)

    keep up the amazing work

  • HEY :) :)

Brilliant Tank, One Of The Best I've Seen :)

Love Your Fish, There Cool :P :)

  • Beautiful aquarium ! Are you gonna add more fish?

  • Thank you, I will be adding more but not until I get a bigger tank.

  • How much lighting would I need if I were to add 2-3 bubble tip anemone to my fish only saltwater tank that is 36gallons? I currently have a powerglo(20W) and a standard fluorescent light(17W) that came with the tank. Thanks, help would be appreciated. :)

  • that is like my dream tank, I cant get one till I get my own house, b/c i dont have enough money or room until I move out, right now I only have a 12g nano reef, but your tank is so nice

  • Thanks! You should go to my channel and click on 72 gallon Bow Front Reef Aquarium Updated, you can watch it in HD.

What size tank are you planning to get?

  • right now I have a 12g nano. but I want a 72g bow, reef, once I get older, in like 6 or 7 years, so its still a while away

  • So overall, how much did it cost you to get this baby up and running?

  • Around $3500.00 but I bought the best stuff right off.

  • ill stick with freshwater lol

  • are calcium reactors essential in a reef tank?

  • no, but you need to add calcium at least weekly for hard corals

    nice tank BTW

  • im getting a 150 gal marine tank, and my dad has a 30 gal freshwater tank and the water looks like someone peed in it and we just the uv stelalizer and a eco aqualizer and what do you recommend?

  • thats amazing, i just have a fresh water tank, id love a tank like that, looks like something thats been picked out of the maldives and bought on land! awesome

  • we baught a 50 litre fish tank and i wanna talk my mum into putting saltwater fish in it

  • hey guys ! i recently noticed a odd odor coming from my tank? i have recently starting using a fluval 305, could it be possibly overfeeding?

  • Is it a saltwater tank? What does it smell like, heat, garbage, ocean, dead fish?

  • very nice tank. well done for the work you have put in. I'm a reefie to and would like to share a video of my tank with others. see it on here at: "marek's reef aquarium" :-)))

  • Nice! Feel free to make a video response so others who find my video here will have a direct link to your video.

  • Nice tank, good luck keeping the cleaner wrasse alive, I heard they don't last to long in tanks..

  • We have had him for about 4 months now.

  • Nice, I just heard they were picky eaters, and if theres not enough parasites on the other fish they die.. Glad urs is godd tho..

  • I appreciate the info, my local fish store failed to tell me about that, I looked it up the web and found it to be true so Im going to avoid buying them in the future.

  • Yeah, He's still alive so he must be getting everything he needs.. Props to you, I have a same tank as you but with cichlids in it.. I plan on making it a saltwater someday..

  • nice set up. Nice fish.

  • Fish help is available at The Exotic Fish . com

  • Thanks, been using a garlic solution to treat everyone, I think I might have ich.

  • Garlic isn't a treatment for ich, it may help the fish combat the ich but it won't cure it. If you go to the forum I listed we will be able to help a lot more.

  • Going there now, thanks again.

  • No problem. :-)

  • how many inches is the kole tang in that video? nice tank btw:)

  • About three inches but unfortunately we lost him last night, I was noticing he was turning white a bit then I noticed white spots on him, I came into the room to clean out the protein skimmer and found him laying on the substrate covered with snails and my shrimp.

I dont understand what happen all my other tangs look fine and are acting great.

  • oh sorry to hear that. How old was he?

  • Thanks, Im not sure how to tell how old he was but we only had him for less than a year. I was told to be prepared to have loss when picking up this hobby, I just didnt think I would get so attached to fish.

  • yes fish are great, thanks for you reply!

  • Nice, but you need a lot more live rock. It will help denitrify your tank..

Check my 180 out here as well. look under "thekidsta"

    Happy reefing!!

  • Thanks for the advice. Havent had any issues with nitrates so far but you never know. I find that the corals I buy have rock (sometimes a lot of rock) with them so I actually had to get rid of some antler type pieces recently.

Your tank is amazing by the way.
