Thanks for the tips theyre helpful & unique i'll surely add to my routines. One thing though, 1:54 - 2:12. In all those kicks you dont bring your leg back; you just drop it straight to the floor after their execution. That error takes away power from your kicks. I still thumbed up though!
U work hard. But u miss the attitude bruce and every great fighter had/has. U miss the real passion. Integrity. U are fake(you dont know yourself) and your passion is ran by your ego. And about your technique. U miss the relaxation so your timing is off in every kick u make and u really dont use even half of your whole body. Learn from this comment or dont. Doesnt matter to me. One. Peace.
@Sheikkailija First of all, learn to spell before you criticise someone. Secondly, why don't you post us a video response to show phanca99 how YOU would do it, rather than a vague and barely understandable anonymous comment?
@tyciol nah bro lees job was his body and martial art he was able to commit to that. just like how floyd mayweather just works on boxing all day cuz its not like he has to go work a 9 - 5 job. trust me when i say lee had a lot of time on his hands.
Dude. You're amazing. Everytime I watch your videos, I get an urge to workout. Witch is good, cause I'm a scrawny guy! Love your videos bro, keep doin' em!
I give you props for the home-made gym you got going on (I got the same on my house for the weekends) and your training advices. I practice muay thai, but tieing an elastic rope to your leg is actually a good idea. May i suggest to you adding some sand into your bag, it will work on your hard kicks a lot better ;) Best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
with martial arts in mind, I train weights using high weight and low reps like maybe 80% 1rm 5 reps at 3-5 sets. Here he does really high rep sets. Is what im doing counter productive? any thoughts?
@crackdaddy just because a guy can kick well does not mean he knows shit about how to achieve that, this lad falls into that category,he is clueless.High reps build endurance ,not strength much, unless youre new to weights.Nothing hes doing here will help strength or power.HE SHOULD BE DOING THOSE SLOW KICKS WITHOUT A BAND,THATS SORT OF THE POINT.
@MCA41691 Importance is relative MCA. The squat works basic extension which is good for back kick or front kick, but it's probably not as important for other types of kicks like rising/axe/crescent etc.
great video but is it possible to do an effect side or round house kick without preparing for the kicks from behind the leading support leg to show the opponent your intention please? less power quicker attack vs more power longer attack . thank you
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions everyone. They are amazing some of them are hilarious and very thoughtful. I am glad you all help each other and giving good advices. Keep it up everyone. Learn and share your passion!
for some reason my lead leg has no power right as it hits the bag i mean i can feel the power but then right when im about to hit the bag the power disappears
Perhaps you don't have the right angle when approaching the left kick. Make sure your stepping to the side of the bag with your back leg when you want to kick with your lead leg. If your in a line center to the bag, the kicks power will end at the bag, because your hips will have fully extended by the time your shin reaches it. The real power will be wasted off the bag, where your hips still exploding-source Bas Rutten
I got a question for any expert out there. My brother and I both do martial arts. Jumping plyometrics is one of the exercises we do for explosion. On the vertical, he beats me by a few inches. But when it comes to kicking the body bag, my kicks pack more power than his. Our boss who's about 191 lbs holds the bag, my brother kicks him and he barely studders, when I kick him, I actually get him back a few steps. So are kicking and jumping different dynamics?
@CrossGhost87 It's technique dude. You bro probably is mentally just kicking the bag and you are kicking through the bag. You must be wanting to kick your boss instead of the bag, lol ;)
@TheTruthHurtsYup Oh no, he was kicking as hard as he could. His technique is among the cleanest. We're both second degrees and been kicking for 8 years, so he has the experience he needs to kick properly. Anyway I found my answer already already from my boss. He said they're different dynamics indeed.
@CrossGhost87 kick as hard as he could is quite vague. A 2 year old could kick as hard as they could but that wouldn't mean much to you or i. If his technique was truly clean to his body type then he would be moving your boss and the bag as much as you do. Everyone starts out with a technique first and then has to adapt it to maximize their body's output. Degrees don't mean much to me, its about the end result and internal state which really counts.
@CrossGhost87 CroGho, do your brother and yourself weigh the same, or do you weigh more? Someone who can't jump as high may lack the same bodyweight strength, but if they weigh more, their attacks may have more force behind them.
Useless taekwondo bulls*it to show-off kind of people :D Keep on kicking wood planks in your job, or apples from the trees but when u see a fight agains proper fighter, even just a experianced street fighter you better remember your sprint-home skills :D
@windyforce Whatever. I've seen Tae Kwon Do people mop the floor with stronger, experienced Muay Thai Fighters. It's not about the art- it's WTF that sucks. It's the sparring systems that they use in Dojo's that suck, it's the amount of shitty instructors that suck. People use Tae Kwon Do kicks in MMA all the time to great effect. Not saying it's better than Muay Thai, I'm just saying it's underrated. I've used it well even if it's just to front kick a guy on his ass so I can ground and pound.
hey any of you guys know of some shoes for all around martial arts training? like for side to side movements and front and back and jumping around like a mooslim
you need to check out jeff cavalier he has a youtube channel type in jdcav24. some of the exercises your doing will destroy your body over time such as the isometric kick/stretch and the leg extensions are no bueno. jeff cavalie knows more about the subject than anyone.
@mrdominicsee idk why i said the leg stretch was bad thats fine but you have to strengthen the tendons in that area or you will tear something but im just saying, this guys seems to know what hes doing.
Would those isometric side kicks hurt your back?
