Hey man, love the cover. Sounds great, but one question, what is that little 'walk' you're doing at :55 (and at 1:11 and again later) on your way to the C chord? What exactly are you playing there? Appreciate it.
I have been looking for this song; fell in love with it in the early 70's in London; It was on a mix album, cant remember what it was called, but it included some English artists like Quintessence I believe. Long before your time, but it was the most soulful rendition I have ever heard in music, CANT FIND THAT ARTIST..., but I have to congratulate you on the second best heartrending performance of this sad sad song....Cheers!!
You are AMAZING! I just cried my eyes out.....My Dad used to sing this to me...and its the only song I can play perfectly on my guitar..:) Thanks for the memories...xxxx
What's up Matt? This is Jeremy. The girls are loving you as always. I dig this song a lot. Is it on the stuff I got from your iPod? Again, sounds great man.
Great version and thanks a lot for chords. With your vocal range it's possible you could do good rendition on songs like "Willing" and "Angle from Montgomery" Do you know them ?
This is one of my favourite 'goosebumps down my spine' tracks. First found this track from a double vinyl album called 'fill your head with rock' and it has never failed raising goosebumps when I hear it.
Your rendition here is absolutely splendid and is true to the original.
hats off to you
I'd love to know the chords your playing if possible
YOU ARE SO TALENTED! You've got a great voice, and an equally good command of it. Please continue sharing your wonderful gifts with the world. I've just sat here listening to this three times in a row, and added it to my Favorites, and my Music playlist ... I love it. Thank you!
For me, The Cowboy Junkies did the "definative version", as that's the only one I knew of until today. But I'm delighted to hear other covers of this song!
VERY good cover. I love that song and you did a great job. Any chance you could send me the chords for it, I've been wanting to learn that one for a while. Keep it up.
I agree! And if he's talking about Kurt Cobain's "Polly", then YES, please! With your natural talent you could do tribute to him by covering his songs. Maybe even cover all of Nirvana's beautiful live acoustic album! Maybe even Neil Young's haunting "Cortez"? Just a thought. (Hmm, do you take requests? lol)

I missed the middle bit! It goes
C-Em-Am-G
C-Bm-Am-D
And the first bit has an F, like this;
G-Am-FC-G alright?

Great song - Nice interpretation. Though Tom recorded the "definitive" version, it was actually composed by a fellow named David Whiffen.
