  • Awwww! You are such a good "mom" for Charlie - he seems VERY happy you two are together.

  • Oh. He's so beautiful and smart. Good boy charlie!

  • melly you certainly have a popular video here! I think it is time for a new one!

  • its elmo :D

  • Im in love <3

  • He looks like a [really cute] muppet. Part of me was expecting him to start going "YYYYYYYIIIIP YIP YIPYIPYIPYIPYIPYIPYIP"

  • i love how he clicks his tongue when you pet him

  • Lah lah lah

  • I think I have some other videos of him. I must upload them when I find them. Good boy Charlie!

  • When I worked at Petsmart I got to play with one of these everyday. Of course we named her Rosy. She was such a sweetie. She was sold before we could teach her any words.

  • pretty in pink, like her color :-)

  • I love that thing cockatoos do with their tongue. :) What an excellent find this guy was! Galah's are some of the most beautiful parrots, if you ask me.

  • I've never heard such a good impression from a bird! He mimics your voice almost perfectly.

  • Beautiful

  • that's a beautiful bird is it a cokatoo?

  • lol adorable :)

  • ZOMG. want. How adorable. MEEEEOW darling much?

  • can you please give me the website where i can adopt a galah

  • hes so fricken cute i love him

  • charlie the galah that sounds like tony the kalah loool thumbs up if you agree

  • Charlie bit my finger again =)))

  • You adopted him? He is so perfect, why would someone leave him at a shelter in the first place! It makes me sad knowing there are so many sweet pets that need homes and can't experience the love and friendship there rightfully deserve! I am so happy you have found the perfect sweet bird and gave him a home. :)

  • @mizcamaro i agree but bear in mind these little guys have been known to live up to 60 years..

  • @KarmasHenchman Charlie is old enough to be my (his owner's) grandfather!

  • @mizcamaro Yes she adopted Charlie from us, Purple Parrot Rescue. He is over 60 years old and was passed from one owner to the next during the 80s and 90s. He was unfortunately abused by someone about 5 years ago and was traumatised for a long time. He was taken from this person and handed to us. We then adopted him out to Melanie. She has done a wonderful job rehabilitating him and earning his trust. He's a gorgeous parrot and couldn't have gone to a better home :-). La la la la......meow!

  • @mynuttybirds Aw shucks :) He deserves a good retirement after all the uncertainty he's been through

  • i want your Galah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • la la la Meowww. Ha

  • Does he blink?? o.o

  • @C00k13L0v3

    do you blink?

  • @britters220 Of course I blink. But that doesn't answer my question, nor was the question directed towards you. I asked because I didn't see the bird blink. Maybe it did blink and I missed it.

  • @C00k13L0v3

LOL, u mad? dont be, im just playin'.

  • you, charlie, and your user name are all awesome!

  • LOL

  • What a sweet little bird! Any ideas why it was at the rescue in the first place?

  • @JazzLassie6020 He'd been through many homes. He has a lot of trust issues, especially with men, and will bite them.

  • What a beautiful and charming bird~ I have a five year old parakeet, so sometime's it's hard to understand him as clearly. He says "Hi, Bird" (or "Hi, Fern," since our dog is named Fern) and "Hello," and I think he also knows "pretty bird." xD

  • You only had him for a day and you already had him talking and singing? That's impressive.

  • laaaalaala

  • oWW HOW CUTE BIRD I LOVE BIRDS SPECIALLY IF THEY DO SOMETHING

  • goffins cockatoo = galah cockatoo, right?

  • @SuperCheesetastic No, a goffins is white. About the same size though.

  • What beautiful coloring. I don't think I've ever seen a bird quite like that

  • La la la ...~

  • Incrivel

  • franciele foro

  • aweeeeee.. so cute

  • He is too cute and looks very well trained! I would love to have a galah if only I had room! Everyone single one I've met has had such a sweet temperament... Oh well, I guess I'll stick to cockateils for now. xD

  • what animal rescue shelter did u get him from?

    very nice Galah!

  • I just got one today! Rose breasted Cockatoo. She's 7 months. She's just learning to talk but already laughs and dances around. Awesome video!

  • Lalalallaala

  • @oOosora try puting him in when you watch tv this and talk to them while you watch tv this is how we got ours talking realy good. you mite sound like a broken record but when they start talking they just keep learning real easy.

  • I like that beautiful parrot, very smart and that pink color is amaizing!!

  • how do you know if they are male or female and what one would talk better

    please respond

  • @webby1106 the females have a light brown-red coloured irises and the males have dark brown-black irises.

  • can you please give me the website

  • @webby1106 you have to get them sex dna tested

  • @webby1106 it is actually really easy with the galahs to tell wether the male or female. males eyes are more of a black sort of colour and females have a sort of rosy red colour. so this galah is male

  • @webby1106 Usually males talk better than females but depending on species this changes.

  • @webby1106 not sure which gender is easier to train to talk but usually you can tell the gender by the eyes. the males have dark brown/black and the females have a lighter brownish red colour normally

  • @webby1106 a male pink and grey will have pink tissues around there eyes and a females eyes will turn pink as she get older so there turn from black to a brite pinkish redsih

  • boys look cute in pink.

  • A PINK BIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Laaa laa la ... MRREEOW. Lol

  • lol look at the size of its eyes

  • i had a pink and grey galah called charlie to x) it flew away bout 5 years ago it said, Rhonda, Charlie want a cracker and Mitchell

  • beautiful colour ^^

  • Awh :3 that skweeky noise he made means he loves you.

  • lol awesome

  • Sheezus Mel, 64,000 views.... good girl!

  • Charlie has a gorgeous coloring :)

  • PS Thank you for rescuing Charlie! I hope that you get the opportunity to rescue many other animals in your lifetime. :) It takes great compassion to be someone willing to rescue one animal. :) Way to go! ;-)

  • You seem to be a perfect match! :) I can tell you two will have lots of fun times togther. Have you tried to get Charlie to sing and dance to any songs on the radio? :) If I had a parrot, I'd be playing Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" to him to see if he would like it and would sing along. :) Are you taking any requests. That pink is such a pretty color! Where do these birds originate?

  • im love this video and Charlie...:)

  • Oh come on, that bird's insanely cute.

It's awesome that it's a rescue bird, too.

  • What a beautiful bird! *o*

  • Adorable, cute and gorgeous !! :)

  • That is sooo adorable!! i love how he's shaking while he sings! soooo adorable!

  • GORGEOUS!!!

  • what kind of parrot is Charlie?

  • This is very odd ... My Galah meows as well!

  • I have the same bird with the same color she's female not really good talker just say's hello and makes few noses

  • Great Video! Thanks for sharing :)

  • What a sweet boy Charlie is!

  • do you have to split their tounges?

  • @bestracer89 of course not, that cruelty doesn't work any more than if you split a human baby's tongue to help it talk...

  • @bestracer89 NO my galah listens to the radio most of the day and will repeat things within a few hours

  • @bestracer89 You are sick... gtf out before i find your ass...

  • how precious!

  • I'm thinking of getting a boy galah for my Joey. Being a girl, she doesn't really say much (just like cockatiels) but she's quite lovely although a bit spoilt. She whistles at Charlie and chatters a little - it's really nice and I think I'd like to see her with a real life friend.

  • that is soooo cute!!! :D

  • nice.. PINK PENACHO!

  • You're wonderful and so it the bird!

  • I want one.....ahhhhh!

  • So Cute- We love this Unique, and Eclectic Bird and have added this video to our channel- "GameSend-Station" on Playlist#5!

  • lalala

  • He's so awesome... makes me want a Galah... :)

  • He is soooo cute! :)

  • Good gravy, hes too cute.

  • We had a Galah called Charlie when I was growing up, too! Galahs rule! Before him we had a female galah called Missy and a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo called Cocky. :)

  • CUTE!

  • hahahaaha awwww he's so cute.

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • for some reason this makes me feel sleepy

  • Cool bird! You are so lucky! I want one!

  • your voice is too sweet. . . . <3

  • I watched this video like 3 times before i started to believe what I was seing.I've never seen this species before. It's awesome ! Take good care of Charlie !Best wishes ! La la la

  • What a sweet baby! He's lucky to have such a good momma!

  • Awwwww, he's so talented! How did you train him to do that!

  • i love that la la la, ima teach meh Galah to do that, unfortunatyl he hasnt talked in ages idk why but yea im Aussie no american

  • mine never talks(sad face) any tips?

  • @o0osora I just get really excited when any of my birds talk, which is very rewarding for them. I also give them treats and attention even if they just *try* to copy human speech. Talk to the bird like it is a person, just chat to it all the time :)

  • @o0osora nor did mine until i turned the radio on and left the bird alone, within a couple of days he started repeating adverts he heard a lot

  • We have our Joey loose inside the house every day so she can generally create havoc and also to let her say hello to your Charlie. We put your video on full screen and it keeps her occupied for a minute or so.

Joey's a really friendly galah who's no. 1 favourite is my 17 y.o. daughter, but really, she loves everyone in the family. We also have 4 cats and a dog who are often in the house at the same time as her, but don't bother her though we'd never leave her alone with them of course.

  • Any idea how old he is? What happened to the poor fellow in his former home. What a lovely Galah and to be so comfortable with you after just a day. Wow. Really wonderful.

  • @canitbechristine Apparently he was 50 years old when I adopted him last year. We really clicked at the parrot rescue and he has improved a lot since then.

  • @myroosterwilleatyou That's brilliant. So wonderful that you came into his life. :) He looks like a lovely little fellow.

  • @myroosterwilleatyou Wow he looks good for 50! Apparently they can live up to 80s years old in captivity.

  • Thats a cool ass bird

  • His Lalalala is so ♥

  • man i use to hav a galah i swear to god if you saw that bird you will be callin it a human it was hell smart

  • charlie is so adorable i love his little voice

  • Adorable

  • When usually they start talking. Mine just very rarely says "hello"

  • @bhatti4peace Some start at a few months to a year old, some it takes longer and some will never talk. All you can do is encourage the talking by rewards and praise and lots of attention.

  • Wat is charlies FB name?

  • very nice !

  • I was wondering if you could help me I have a Rose breasted cockatoo just like you. She doesnt like me very much. She always bites me. I love her and just wanna hold her like my boyfriend does. She loves him NEVER bites him, but always bites me. So any advice you could give me would help.

  • @ThingTwo1126 I believe she has chosen your boyfriend as her mate and believes you are trying to steal her mate off her! I recommend training her to step-up onto a hand-held perch (no risk of bites) which gives you control and makes interacting easier. You should be the one to feed her and give her new toys and her fave treats. If she bites you, never make a reaction (don't scream or yell owch) just put her back in her cage in another room. Make sure your boy never laughs at or encourages bites

  • @ThingTwo1126 they are a one person bird & when they like one person in the house, they are extremely jealous. Yes she has chosen you bf as her "mate" & you are competition for his affection & attention. Plus female cockatoos & galahs are real bitches.

  • Nice to meet you charlie! You are beautiful.I look forward to more of your videos. Many thanks for shearing. . I have a 7 month old Galah, We are waiting to find out weather we have a boy or a girl. Lucy is her/his name, Can say, hello, what ya doing, good boy, hop up, kiss kiss kiss, hello lucy, she/he waves, shakes hands, bobs and is fantastic at her dancing.

  • I put this on at different times through the week so that my Joey can watch Charlie (and maybe learn something). He really seems to enjoy it and, while he's watching, he has come out with different whistles etc which he hasn't used before.

  • @Muso992 I'm glad your Joey enjoys watching him and is learning new things, keep encouraging him!

  • HI!! He is such a clear talker! Good job!

  • @Lorinstargte He's talented but it wasn't me! He's 50 years old and has had several homes where he picked up his repertoire.

  • i want one!

  • Oh so beautifull and unique.. much different than my Goffins Cockatoo.

  • do you have any advice on how to help a galah settle into a new home. my galah talks and whistles all day long when im at home but won't let anyone near the cage or heaven forbid let him out. He's about 4 years old and spent most of his life in an aviary...

  • @StevePinoyBoy Lots of patience, understanding and positive reinforcement. Think of everything from his point of view- humans would be huge scary. Make every interaction a positive one.

  • You treat that bird so well; even if you've only known each other a short time, you can see there's an obvious connection between you two. Good for you for adopting!

  • @KikiSpaghetti He deserves it after all he's been through. The old man can now retire!

  • Lovely, Smart in ways that words can't describe, only a person familiar with such lovely birds would understand what I mean. Reminds of my partner Millo who looks slightly older.

  • @tariqqazwsx I know what you mean. Is Millo a 'too? Charlie is 50 although he doesn't look it!

  • such a beautiful colour

  • Love this little clip. Charlie is beautiful!

  • What a little sweetheart!! :D..Bless u 4 adopting him and giving him a loving caring home!!.

  • that is so cute <3

  • wait...you trained a rose breasted cockatoo within a day?

  • @ceejaybuchanan He came to me with his talents already, I was just discovering his repertoire of words and actions the day I got him. He constantly surprises me!

  • I just got a rose breasted cockatoo 2 days ago her old owners told me she could say hello, and give kisses, she does give kisses, but she wont say hello. I was wondering if you had any tips for helping me teach her to talk?

  • @ThingTwo1126 Just keep encouraging her, praise her a lot when she tries to form words. If she decides not to talk, then accept her decision- there are plenty other ways to communicate with parrots! :D

  • awww i love it :)

  • o my he is so cute, i want one. what is this bird called?

  • Soo cute !

  • I have a tame galah named Charlie too, your Charlie is gorgeous :)

  • omg! he is so cute! mine is just feral and doesnt stop coughing lol or calling the dogs

  • lol...he's cute... funny to think he's was born long before you

  • Love it! That's going on my facebook! ;-)

  • awwwwww I love how you got Charlie! he is so precious!!!!! <3
