@thomascook3 I am unsure if they still do this [I don't recall them doing it on my recent trip to Seattle] but for awhile they would just set the flaps back to takeoff extension. I guess it was to reduce some of the items off of the departure checklist for the outbound flight back to Denver... Not quite sure though.
@thomascook3 It's because if it is cold enough, the flaps can freeze/jam in their position while the aircraft is parked. So even if the flaps become jammed, they can still takeoff as the flaps are still in takeoff config. I'm not entirely sure though, but I do believe this is the right answer.
@alexlt0102 yeah eg: Virgin Atlantic pay ther;re captains of the 747-400 around £45,000 a year, whilst a Boeing 747-400 captain for BA will get about £65,000 a year, this will be similar if BA had an a340, they would probably have a similar salary, with the same difference in payment with Virgin as well, various websites show salaries for what airline and planes etc etc.
@alexlt0102 Most paygrades go by the weight of the actual aircraft, not so much the make. Airlines that fly both the 319 and the 737, for example, probably pay about the same for both, because they are about the same size and weight.
Yes that is definitely 13R, not a very busy runway as compared to 18R. However I don't believe there are any non high speed exits other than the entrance and exit at each end of the runway.
I always get excited when I spot KDFW and see an Airbus on approach, hoping to add another new tail to the collection.
I think it probably was. This runway stays pretty busy for landings during the summer months, so I'd imagine there was someone on hot final as we were exiting.
what a smooth landing!!!

it is a differnce between a boeing-pilot salary or a airbus-pilot salary, or it's the same??
alexlt0102 1 year ago
@alexlt0102 it depends on what airline your with
Ben123planes 1 year ago
@Ben123planes okay, so it's is nothing to do with the airplane you pilot, but the airline?

I think airbuses fitted with CFM56-5Bs sound better.

This vid was shot about a month before I flew it to Reno and had my picture taken in the cockpit. Great vid.

Do you remember what seat you were in on this particular flight?
evilcatz2 3 years ago
I think I was in the low to mid 20's as far as rows go. Obviously I was in seat A in my row.

It looks like you were seated right behind the exit row (probably row 11 or 12) on the A318 (in F9 config) row 10 is the exit row.

That was a VERY smooth touchdown.
Was it an high speed taxiway or something ?
It looks like the aircraft was rolling a bit fast.

While this is a nice video, there is no runway at DFW that is 13R. They have a 13L or a 31R
jamie4bobbi 3 years ago
There are two 13/31's at dfw 13R-31L, 13L-31R. Perhaps if you were to look at an airport diagram you'd notice.

the a318 and the a319 are my favroiut types of aircraft
