Interesting that the monster in this episode is similar to the same monster (Blizzard) seen in the boxart cover of Primal Rage, heck his name even make a reference to the game as well. Too bad Toei didn't give him any ice power like Blizzard considering they already waste it on Pirantishead. We had make more sense if Primator was the one that freezes the Dinozords.
If you look closely at scene 0:23 you can catch a quick shot of the original megazord arm moving of the shot. It's quick but you can see it was an original megazord fight.
I can't help my curiosity on wether there was any footage of Primator trying to transform into the Megazord or Dragonzord etc during the zord fight. There is no evidence of Primator doing this apart from the ability to transform himself into the rangers obviously. This is one of the fights that really makes me wish that Saban waited until using up all the zyu2 footage before starting season 2.
I wonder if anyone's had any luck convincing TOIE about releasing zyu2 footage.
A: I think that Primator and Kakuranger's God Sauder (Red Ape NinjaZord) may be related as they both use staff weapons that "break apart" and are both monkey types. B: What if he didn't fire a beam, but deflected one?
Actually, they're both references to Sun Wukong, the Chinese Monkey King from the tale "Journey to the West" (the same character that Dragon Ball's Son Goku was based on), who wielded a staff.
I don't know why Toei included a Sun Wukong reference in footage that was specially made for Power Rangers though.
I see what you mean, there probably was footage of a beam coming from his helmet which they had to cut because we all know if they didn't change the zords early the kids would stop watching in disgust.
I also reckon he had to have fired a beam but Saban had to edit out the part where he fired it as the Dino Megazord would be visible before the beam hit it. I reckon it worked the same way as the Soccadillo zord fight.

@wightman1987 In the last comment I was supposed to write TOEI, not TOIE. Hate it when I do a typo

I think he's ment to be fireing a beam or something at 00:33 I guess saban edited that a bit so you can clearly see the dino megazord.
