  • Love the integration of English, Chinese, & Spanish! It makes it very interesting for those of us who love languages!

Would like to see the tonal marks written above the PinYin to help us better understand how to correctly pronounce Chinese, but nice work with the music & showing us how to write the characters!

  • ni hao, ni hao ma? xi xi :)

  • this is an okay video, but some of it is difficult to follow, over all its pretty good, I love how on the side it has English and Espanole :) Thank You for posting this :)

  • i'm navajo, so it was no problem pronoucing ni hao. hahaha. that slight pause between the ha and o is almost often used in navajo language. i guess it's kinda hard pronouncing ni hao correctly if you speak english.

  • Hello from a spaniard-"tu" means "you" in spanish and french!!!! =)

  • I've always thought that you in Spanish meant "ustedes", I already knew that "tu" means you in French, thanks! :)

  • You're welcome ;)

Yeah thats not wrong "usted" is the polite form for "you" which doesn'T exist in english!

  • I'll keep that in mind:)

  • Lets starts with this.

  • wow that girl is hot she has really INSPIRED me=)

  • i want to be chinese!!

    thnx!

  • LOL im taking chinese this year and my teacher taught us Wo too :3 lol Wo and Ni Hao. :3 and Wo Shi too but ya..

  • i'm chinese and she did a great job teaching!! I hope this inspires lots of people to learn a different language. ^^

  • I really want to learn chinese. Because i think it's a beautiful language. I'm dutch but do you know someone who could teach me?

  • If you live near a big city, you could try to find a bookshop specialised in oriental languages. There are many audio or video methods (such as "Tell me more"). It is hard to learn alone but first you have to learn the basis of prononciation (sounds and tones) and then you can practice with a chinese. It is very important to master the basis of prononciation, even if it's hard and boring, before learning sentences and grammar. Well, that's my opinion.

  • OK Thank you!

  • this is very good. ^.^ i like it.

  • My grandma is a german .She teaches me German .I've been studying for a year but made only a little progress .I think it's difficult to pronounce.

  • thank you!

  • Always nice to see that it's not an easy language for other people as well :)

  • thanks a lot for these vids :)

  • does she write in the right way? cuz i dont know how 2 write and i`m going 2 copy her writing style xD @ Riyo 1 was hast du gegen englisch?

  • Oh this is COOL!!!! Thanks for posting these lessons! Wish I could rememebr "thank you" in Chinese....oh well...lol GRASIAS! (might as well learn Spanish at the same time!)

  • haha, i am doing that exactly, taking both spanish and chinese lessons.

  • Aww no fair!!! My mom's only letting me take ONE language! I haven't decided on German or Japanese yet.

  • i thought you were learning chinese? thank you is xiexie, and i wouldnt recomend learning german, russian is much more important. also because pretty much all germans speak english perfectly well, on the otherhand if you learn russian you can speak to any of the peoples from the former soviet republics many of whom dont speak english.

  • I'm German and I'm going to move there. I hate English with a passion and German's the only language that I have found worth keeping in my family history, as that's what my family is. Sorry, but I'm very proud to be German and I get fussy whenever someone says that Germans and their language are so fucked up that they're not important.

  • hey man, congratulations I'm brazilian :D WO SHI BAXIREN :) and I'm learning chinese too ;) and I love people like you :D, and I have so many fun learning with you and the xingxing laoshi :D

  • welcome cyrochan and Brazil is such a beautiful country

  • OOO - I want my own chinese instructess as well!

We know what you're doing in Chengdu John. I'll be on the next plane. lol

  • welcome to my Chengdunese paradise!!

  • Hi John I may in fact move to China in the coming year or so.

My girlfriend of 10 years ( from Jilin province ),and I , are considering the move for a number of reasons -

quality of life being one of them. Teaching english

is something that is an option. So it is about time

I learned some mandarin. And I already have a personal

'maestra' as you put it:-), along with your fine productions. So maybe see you one day in Chengdu John!

  • welcome-it is good to live in Chengdu-violence and crime are not so visble like in the USA and SouthAmerica-the cost of living in Chengdu is very low and it has a laid back way of living that I adore-it is the official homeland of the Pandas and the gateway to Tibet and other amazing places-working as a foreigner means an average of 15 hours a week-

  • I can't imagine myself going back to USA or any other country and work 6-8 hours a day. it is not a deal of making money but enjoying your way of life to the top.If you wanna make money this is not the right place-come for the pleasure of enjoying the sweet taste of a very dif culture than yours...

  • i want my private maestra too xD

  • you're not the only one. lol

  • ;)- China is the place to be

  • Thanks John.

But you know you're preaching to the choir here.

I would like to see Tibet as well at some point -

the train from beijing will make it easy for this foreigner white-devil. But Jin, my Chinese girlfriend

has no desire to see Tibet. Many Han Chinese people

have a negative opinion of Tibet, so I'll need a travel companion for my trip to Lhasa. Wanna go to Tibet John? BTW my email is robran53 at yahoo.

    Bob R.

  • sounds good! Rob

but I have already experienced Tibet and I want to go back again but not soon-(I am still saving some coins) next time I go there I have a big plan for filmming -'cause it is a wonderful land-check it out I have published the first part w w w youtube com/watch?v=XY4D0QQHnHk

  • Thanks again, John. I am working my way thru

your video course and will give you feedback along the way.

  • was the girl in the video a volunteer or she was paid to this? i am just curious about this, lol

p.s. in terms of learning Chinese, I suggest ppl drop the characters. learning the pronunciations is more practical and thats enough. or u would feel it is killing you while you are studying this language ^^

  • ni hao = muy dificil para decir xD gracias.xx
