could i just cut a hole in the top of the airbox and silicone vacume hose in the hole and run the pipe the rest of the way and not have any problems just a question plez dont be a azz about it?!!!!!
i have a 09 honda foreman 500 es and i want to run my vent lines. i know there are two from the carb. i need to do this cuz water gets in there. Are those the ONLY lines i run? no rear break or front/rear dif? i cant put a snorkel on but i can at least do this for now. i can go deep but jus not over my seat.
i have a question if you have to man bends dont you gotta get bigger jets?
and if anyone knows a video how to put snorkels on a 650 v2 arctic cat could someome please send me link or giv me more details of how to contruct them i really want/need snorkels for mud nats this summer coming
@smallman334 yeh when u create bends it restricts air flow, therefore you get higher fuel: air ratio so.. you have to lower your jet size. You can totally avoid this by using vacuum hose, which creates less restriction and is easy to work with.
Looks great ! ..This is what i need on my cf moto but i cant find any ready kits for it ! :( build it myself yes that would be an option but not so handy with these kids of things.
@TheLemonlime19 Mine cost less than $25.00. I used 1.5 inch PVC and a few elbows and a prefilter. You have to rejet the carb for more fuel flow because the 1.5 inch is too much air getting sucked in. I have a suzuki and you cant adjust the carb needle like on a yamaha and I wasnt gunna pay $50.00 for a rejet kit so I got a prefilter on the tip of the snorkel to restrict the air flow. You could just put a PVC cap on it and drill a 1/2 inch hole in the cap. My buddy did that and it works fine.
ok i got a question if i have a snorkel on my atv and im in fender deep water and i let off on the gas will it swallow a ton of water and cause my quad to stall please respond
@sgttroyer Guess you wanted a quick reply. I snorkeld my bike cause of the same problem. When you let off, no the water wont get sucked in as much. When you hit the throttle though it sucks in air, that is where you get the air to the carb for the right air to fuel mixture (A/F Ratio). Regardless it is bad to go completely under water with a stock or aftermarket snorkel. It has to breathe fresh air. I built mine myself too.
@sgttroyer Personally I like building my own stuff, but if you need a good snorkel kit get a Bayou Snorkel Kit. They make awesome kits, very high quality and also look cool.
@sfloridamudbogger your going to laugh at me for this but i need one for my 04 honda recon lol and the only one i have found was a tuff atv snorkel so if u can let me know if you find any snorkels for a recon
@sgttroyer Are you kiddin, I ouldnt laugh at you for that, Honda is awesome. But yea, I dont know if bayou makes one for that, did ya look on their website, bayousnorkels . com? They should have listed all the ones they make, if not Tuff ATV has good products too. Good luck man.
awesome video and thanks for posting! helped me alot i never even thought of the dialectric grease. gonna watch it a few more times to make sure i gots everything but i was gonna send my bike in to have a snorkel put on but i would much rather do one myself now that i have watched this. so in review, i have a 92 yamaha big bear 350 4x4 anything i should know about venting? ie, transmission, i know carb has to be done, what about the top end there is that an intake aswell and needs to be ran up?
You can but you have to run a separate air filter and you need to tune your carb. Also you run the risk of getting watter straight into your carb rather than into your airbox. I advise not to do this unless, you plan on racing.
actually you want the inlet vent a lil bigger to compensate for the added restriction. besides just bring the snorkle up another 6in then add the 90degree
Yeh. I couldn't turn because the handle bar hit the snorkel. But I just put another 90 degree bend to face down. I just take it off when I go full throttle, better air flow.
My atv looks just like that. Couldyou please tell me what you did and what parts you used. Plz. Check out my videos. mine is a baja wilderness 250. Mine is just the same just different company
clean the air filter you dirty

do you have to have a line running from your exhaust? i want to only snorkel carb. can i do that? will i lose power?
rkmvp44 5 months ago
@rkmvp44 yeh you don't have to snorkel exhaust, but the downfall to that if your stall in the water the water will travel through exhaust

Rags163 9 months ago
@cdog986 your stupid

@cdog986 I would NEVER run one out the back.. it will eventually get dunked, or broke off.
