  • @darknessXsmash yeh it was a little futhur than the antenna

  • Do u ply minecraft??????????

  • @chaseabob123123 I don't..but have heard about it :)

  • Oh lol srry I liv in California and we barly get lighting

  • @chaseabob123123 No worries at all. I shot this video when I was still 15 years old. No fancy tricks could be done back in those days and the older cameras and their lenses gave the video a different look too.

  • WOW SO FAKE

  • @chaseabob123123 LOL...I have over 90 legit storm videos on my channel but faked this one back in 1988? hehe hey man it's cool, you have a right to your opinion obviously. Thanks for watching anyways.

  • 0:14 waaaaaaaw

  • AWESOME LOVE IT

  • I like how the static electricity popped on the video. Close, but no cigar.

  • That's fake.

  • @lapanic52 lol...88 other severe weather videos on my channel here, but I decided to fake this one? Everyone is entitled to their opinion though, thanks for watching either way!

  • lol

  • @lapanic52 IT AINT FAKE ITS REAL

  • That must have been a big vhs camera in 1988 with a suitcase for batteries

  • @WavyGravyTrain1 Actually I was lucky and my dad had purchased the Sony CCD-V110 8mm camcorder! At the time it was top of the line lol

  • It looks like..........

  • Chuck Norris, lighting his cigar.

  • did you jump camra man lol I dont blem u

  • @summer123910 I definitely did! lol. I had my back turned for the initial strike but the thunder made me jump.

  • Waw, simply great lightning capture !

  • Ummm I'd stay inside!! Freaky!!

  • I love those instant thunder hits!

  • Looks so fake, sorry.

  • @BlueBlockHeads how the heck is this fake?

  • @mario51man After 0:31 Everything but the lightnig moves, it looks like a imige put on screen. The lightning should have whent off camara like everything els. Sorry for typos, bad typing day for me.

  • @BlueBlockHeads It was 1988 when I shot this. Video cameras were not what they are today and the CCD sensors in those old camera created many strange effects when a bright light source would occur. So I can assure you that this is 100% real. Also, I have over 80 severe weather videos on my channel, lol....why would I decide to fake this one? However you are free to believe what you want to believe. I do thank you for watching regardless :)

  • @tornadovideostock It;s a good video. I don't really think it's fake, but just looks it. Alot of times camaras don't really pick up video that great. Good video anyway.

  • @BlueBlockHeads And that was definitely the case with my video camera back in 1988 lol. I was shooting on a Sony CCD-V110 8mm camcorder. Funny thing is, at that time it was considered "top of the line" for consumer camcorders lol.

  • his tv reception grew tenfold that day

  • Amityville House ! :P

  • On this time i just was wish :D because i'm 15 :D

  • Comment removed

  • One lighting strike brought me to my knees it was so loud and close. If only I had a camera recording.

  • @dakrrs I've had a few of those experiences as well in the past lol. Thanks for watching!

  • lightnings strinking 25 yards away from you so u go out side?

  • @denvermedibuds420 Well the first shot of it hitting the antenna was taken from inside. The camera was near the window, and I was safely inside my home. The second strike I was outside, so yeah lol, not the best move.

  • @tornadovideostock damn i would a shit my pants

  • @denvermedibuds420 Ha ha nearly did on that second strike! Thanks for watching

  • @denvermedibuds420 just be quiet

  • ale pitolenie

  • @TheStillGamer I got a laugh out of that comment as well. Kind of hard to fake videos back in 1988. Plus, I was only 15 years old at the time with limited video skills, and there were no home video editors or effects for that matter. lol

  • This iz so fake and gay

  • Cool anyone there need more lightning LOL WTF man !!

  • Wonderous and amazing, needed for life to continue, pretty to look at and inspiring yet can stop your heart in an instant, reminds me of women XD no insult intended I LOVE Lightning and Women =D

  • @stormdude5297 No worries :) I shot this video back in 1988 when I was only 15 years old and I have learned much more about storm safety since then. Lightning is one of the biggest dangers in storms and I take it very serious now. So glad you enjoyed my videos and thanks so much for subscribing!

  • @tornadovideostock wait you were 15 in that video??

  • @lyldawhg631 Yep, I'll be 39 in a few months..time does fly that's for sure lol

  • @tornadovideostock man your lucky to be in 1988 i wish i was in the 1988 but i wasnt :(

  • @lyldawhg631 That's ok, hey...you're younger than I am so be glad lol!

  • @tornadovideostock i am it just i want to see what the world looks like in 1988 but how was it in 1988?

  • @lyldawhg631 In 1988 everything seemed normal to me. We didn't have internet or any of that stuff but we didn't feel that we were missing out since well, you can't miss something that didn't exsist at the time. 1988 was fun for me, for the most part. I was 15/16 years old back then. Good times. Looking back though it's amazing how much technology has advanced since then! Most folks didn't even have a computer back then

  • looks like a very nice neighborhood. Where in Queens?

  • @indyfan22k I'm here in the Rego Park/Forest Hills area of Queens :)

  • @indyfan22k my parents are from South Ozone Park and and Richmond Hill. I Can't believe they are going to make a casino at Aqueduct Raceway, that's crazy!

  • @indyfan22k I heard about that!

  • NICE

  • pause at 00:15

  • no way id be out there lighting scare the sht out of me lol

  • @ianharrd And with good reason! Lightning and flash flooding are the greatest dangers in storms.

  • good video

  • 0:11 Thats bright!

  • oh ray

  • I see you got scared of the second one :D

  • @csengeri I did! ha ha, yeah it caught me off guard! Thanks for watching!

  • That was no direct lightning strike! If it was a real lightning strike, the antenna would have exploded in a shower of sparks!

  • @triton115 lol....you think I faked it?? It was 1988 bro, I was 16 when I shot this, didn't exactly have the money nor did the technology exsist for CGI. It was real, but it's all good.....you are entitled to you opinion. Oh, and my neighbors antenna, and roof was scorched after this too....

  • @tornadovideostock Eww, you're old now

  • @bouceystix lol...yep, getting there!

  • @tornadovideostock It's possible the strike occurred to the side of your POV. If you watch some other lightning strike videos you'll see that the bright flash can "bleed" into other areas of the screen, making it look like a strike physically occurred somewhere else. It's a camera deficiency.

  • @SodiumCyanide I initially thought that as well, and have experienced exactly that many times after 1988. In this case however my neighbor who lived in that house said his TV got fried by the strike, and that there were burn marks on the actual antenna itself. He took it down the following day and replaced it.

  • Awesome stuff Scott!! What idiot voted they didnt like this?? This rocks 1988 or 2010 its lightning and close at that!

  • @StormPatrol420 LOL...yeah I noticed a while back that someone gave it a thumbs down. Guess someone stumbled across the clip who wasn't a lightning fan :) No worries though. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed!!

  • all this during the june heatwave of 1988.

  • @JustinU1984 Yep! That was definitely a HOT summer here in NYC!!

  • Crank it up baby!! Love the sound of close thunder! You've got all sorts of cool video in the archives. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for checking out the video Bill! And yes, I'm having a blast going through all my archives :)

  • What can I say, I love the sound of thunder!

  • Me too! Every time I hear the sound of the thunder it gets me amp'd up for the upcoming season :) Glad you enjoyed!

  • That was a close call!

  • It certainly was! I wonder how his television worked after this, lol

  • Nice, I wonder if the TV survived

  • @ozthunder That's a good question. I know two days later when lightning struck my TV antenna, the TV didn't survive, lol. Part two of my above clip shows two strikes hitting on either side of the frame, and the third (which was out of view) hit my tv antenna which was only 50 feet from me, lol

  • 5!:)

  • Wow... AWESOME, Scott!!! I love 80's vintage storm footage and those were classic!

  • Thanks Michael! I can't wait to start going through more of my vintage footage :)

  • Great stuff.

  • Thanks :)

  • Thanks everyone! Glad you enjoyed!

  • WOW Nice Lightning Video 5*****

  • Nice video man, damn thats crazy

  • Scared the crap out of me too!! LOL

  • Crap, that second duel strike was impressive!
