  • Because off this dam, the day cicle is 0.6 microseconds longer!

  • If it keeps on rainin, levees goin to break,

When the levee breaks Ill have no place to stay.

Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,

Lord, mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,

Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,

Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.

Dont it make you feel bad

When youre tryin to find your way home,

You dont know which way to go?

  • I think that comparing chinese products with chinese engineering is absurd. But, that being said I also feel that this project has disaster written all over it. Though I do take my hat off to the chinese for taking on such an ambotious project which (if successful) will provide clean (renewable) electricity to millions.

  • How wrong you are. The quality of your everyday goods is a good example of a nation's poor standards and lack of manufacturing capability.

Having been to China on a number of occasions (Nantong, Ningbo and Luwan), with my work as a Ships Officer, I have seen the poor standards and complete lack of quality control. For example you buy a set of drills and they range from being quite acceptable to absolute rubbish all in the one set.

It will take far more than your say so to change my mind.

  • It's a massive project, and it looks great, but all I can think of, is that I hope their workmanship and concrete quality is far better than much of the rubbish that they export to western countries, or else the people living downstream have a lot to worry about in the future.

  • great infrastracture project

  • What did they pay their skilled construstion workers, like 5$ an hour lol?

  • @wishihadagun28

they are proud about it , smarty.

  • @wishihadagun28 9 dollar.

  • @Irinka1984st

What's so dangerous about it? Please point out some mistakes in the schematics otherwise your opinions are worthless.

  • @dycarbon1 do you have the slightest idea about the poor workmanship and complete lack of quality control in the manufacture of Chinese articles? Multiply that by a billion, and you will start to see the possibillities for a monumental disaster at some time in the future.

Like many Chinese things, it looks great on the surface.

I only hope for the sake of those living downstream, that I am wrong. But if I were a betting man I'd keep my money in my pocket.

  • @ozzirt

Then by god I am proud of my country for being able to send people into space by using nothing but scrapyard materials.

  • @dycarbon1 I never said anything about scrapyard materials, but if that is the case, that's another nail in the coffin. What I said was that the materials were not upto world standards and having witnessed the complete lack of quality control in Chinese products plus seeing the work standards at some Shanghai ship repair facilities, all I can say is that I pity for those living downstream.

  • @ozzirt

There is a difference between the incapability of a nation to produce high quality products and a nation choosing to produce low standard products in order to reduce the cost of production. A dam is not equivalent to a toy car or a shirt if this is what you're thinking. The lives of millions of people depend upon the quality of the dam and since we know that China is perfectly capable of high quality production we can safely assume that they're not too stupid to not realise that either.

  • how about the poor fishes??

  • --- CHINA produces more fish than the rest of the world Combined.

Now what kind of fish is different story ,

    But eating fish ...

  • Nice china is broken all the records in the world

  • @aroonkumer i also read that its so heavy with the weight of the water, n the dam it's self it tilted the worlds axes, and made the day longer by one millionth of a second, i know its not noticable, but wow, thats crazy. add that to the record books.

  • materials used concrete lol. pretty sure they used alot more than that. anywho, it is very sad i imagine to loose land that one has been on for generations. however think about the jobs this thing generated for all the villagers, the electricity advantage. and all the coal that will no longer be burned causing further contamination in china. sounds like a win win loose situation

  • go China !!! show us the way.

  • Good the CHICOMS showed their own corruption by stealing so much concrete from children's schoolhouses to build this monument to CHICOM leadership and for nuclear bunker under Sichuan mountain, which either blew up because of earthquake, or caused earthquake.

When truth finally gets out, Chinese people will revolt against CHICOMS. Maybe have real Democracy, like in US.

  • thanks for the war in afganistan and iraq

    ye real democracy

    real war criminal

  • it took nearly a decade to build this dam. Amazing. Some said dam destroys our ecosystem, takes people's home away, kills species, but if this dam was not build, many people will die each year due to the flood. I guess there is no perfect solution to everything,

  • 1,7 billion humans in china

  • appreciated historical views of area, flooding and progress of construction, very interesting.
