I find it amazing that the results of such a horrible thing as segregation are these amazing blues artist. I'm from Venezuela, a place where racism was never that big a problem, in terms of violence and hatred between people I mean, of course there are still assholes here and there. But damn it, when you listen to something as great as the blues, and the history of these guys... Man, you can say a million bad things about us humans, but we sure make beautiful things out of horrors.
In fact, I prefer Eric Clapton's vocal better. Shut my mout!. It make's me proud, when i don't have to ask for a thing. key of G. one, two, three, four.
ya know, I've been playing harp professionally on and off for the last 25 years and I have to say that the Wolf is the most underrated harp player out there. He had great tonality - a rich, full sound, that was his alone. I'm so glad I got a chance to see him in the Metro Club in NY many many years ago. And I'm sad I never got to see him again. Thanks for posting this.
@VIDJACK You'd be even more amazed at stuff he could play on harp but was never recorded. A rocking acoustic country boogie style I've never heard anyone do. These were in part his harp lessons to me, on tape. Chess made a HUGE blunder to not record him doing an acoustic or acoustic solo album, since he could play harp w/guitar. He often played carefully balanced minimal precision riffs to not overshadow any other aspect of what were actually very carefully crafted songs he presented, (c)SGS
Happy upcoming birthday Wolf, my dear friend, music teacher and photographic collaborator. I plan to release our two original songs (my harp lessons) this year... You'll never be dead Wolf, keep on Howlin'. Sandy Guy Schoenfeld
