If a business is poorly run, then let it fail. That way resoures will be available for another company to fill in the bad company's place.

If a business is poorly run, it should fail and the people in charge shouldn't get huge bonuses and get golden parachutes while laying off all their workers. You do realize they don't have money at that level right? It's all about exchange rates in our global economy. They have no incentive to find a REAL dollar amount. Just like the bailouts. Example: State governments pay 300 dollars for one trash can filled with sand to stop cars from hitting bridges. And state goverments are not allowed to run deficits. So they have incentive and still pay outrageous amounts for trivial things. We need to seperate business from government. Completely!

Ok dude, I know you hate taxes. However taxes are necessary, but that doesn't mean squandering money. Obama spoke out against squandering.
We all need services. Police, firemen, military, road construction....these things are not free. Our tax money purchases these services. To get these items WITHOUT taxes would be the very definition of socialism, because it would be the government forcing them to exist.
These times are not a bill we want to pay, but we have to. It's for our kids.

I'm opposed to our taxes being misappropriated, for (among other things) bailing out bankers, megacorporations and paying off special interests.
BO can spin all he likes about the "95% tax cut for all Americans." Everyone is facing tax, fine and fee hikes at all levels of govt., now and in the future.
The inflation tax is the biggest tax of all.
BO's 13/wk tax cut will be worth zip once Helicopter Ben's inflation kicks to pay for Congress' insane spending spree.

economic cycles shouldn't be tampered with no matter what the circumstances. There will be prosperities, recessions, depressions, and recoverys. The economy can fix itself without government aide. If a business is poorly run, then let it fail. That way resoures will be available for another company to fill in the bad company's place.

Yeah, but incompetent businesses will try to screw over everyone else to save their own asses. If a business is poorly run, it should fail and the people in charge shouldn't get huge bonuses and get golden parachutes while laying off all their workers. Businesses left to their own devices succumb to the human tendency to cheat and cut corners. Without proper sensible regulation (not overregulation), businesses will run rough shod over the people the way they did in the late 19th century.

How can an incompetent business "try to screw over everyone else." If that's the case they can be sued for fraud or worse. It's true businesses shouldn't be rewarded for failed ethics or practices, but this administration doesn't believe in that apparently. The country was most prosperous when there was little regulation. The idea of "sensible regulation," is too difficult to define. With free-markets, the invisible hand has always proven to be the best type of regulator.

I completely agree with refusing to give bonuses to failed executives. GIving a reward to someone who ruined a business is shameful. But that doesn't mean that government should be allowed to own corporations such as GM. We have a terrible history of running our own balance sheets into the ground so why are we giving the government more to handle? Let the government worry about the government and let the free market stay free.

Look up Hawaii and Obama on the internet to find out more. If you want universal health-care why can't I ask for freer markets? And guess who established decent living wages & working conditions--it was the people by forming unions. And from what I recall it was the gov. that sent in "union busters." Ultimately, the point is if gov. is smaller than it becomes easier to manage and easier to prevent it from becoming the corrupt system. The gov. works for the people not the other way around.
