It's not difficult to see why Patrick McGoohan was the 1st choice for Bond. Neither is it difficult to see why he was offered the role not once, not twice but THREE times during which he recommended Sean Connery, having worked with him in 1957 during the shooting of the magnificent 'Hell Drivers'. Had McGoohan accepted the franchise, he would have been bigger than Steve McQueen but fortunately he preferred a more private life and instead created the greatest tv series ever made... CUE THUNDER!!!

Better than James Bonds fluff anyday!!! Patrick McGoohan doesnt need guns or cheesy toys, he uses his wits! RIP, thanks for the great memories.
