We bought an old trailer land deal near Baton Rouge $32K repairs after hurricane ~15K we buckled down and paid off the place and are enjoying debt free living being a trailer the energy bill for 3 is around ~$100 not so bad~$35 ea but compared to money we take in we are not concerned with the cost. We are very venerable to tornado hurricane but just can't see us destroying this place to build another until we have been stripped from here or rotted out. Then I will build a concrete dome home.

@cdltpx Debt free is good. I looked into the concrete dome homes as well - they are pretty cool. You wouldn't need any air conditioning in one of those. I've seen some pictures of really amazing looking ones, buried with earth, very Hobbittlike.

@strawboysmall Dome homes do need climate control just not as much each person puts off the BTU of a 100 watt light bulb so the more people you have the more heat you have to remove most domes can get by with a 110 window unit it will remove enough heat to keep a family of 4 comfortable.
