It always amazes me how Australians and Canadians are alike in a few ways. I'm told that at most Olympic events, athletes from these two countries get together often. And we tend to swap jobs / houses from time to time as well.

Real sports involve risks where people can get seriously hurt or die. Just ask Hemingway's ghost - if it's not boxing, bull fighting or hunting big game (and I would add: scuba diving, motorcycle racing or rock climbing), it's not a real sport, dammit. Well, with the possible exception of tennis. ;-)
Or, as a good friend of mine says: "it's only fun until someone loses an eye... then it becomes a sport."

Hey I love Canada, I actually used to play Hockey when I was a kid.
That's Roller Hockey not Ice Hockey, there aren't that many ice skating rinks in Australia.
