as a cop i agree this was a bit extreme. the only way wed ever confiscate a board is if the person was nailing folks on the side walk..really all we can do is ask them to leave and if its private property issue a trespassing citation but the owner has to call first. this cop has a bit of an attitude problem for sure. we are not all like that.

I can see both sides of this argument. A lot of cities around the U.S. have come down hard on skating in public places due to liability. It's the cops job to enforce it. I do think that the cop could have been a little nicer to him, BUT, in all fairness to the cop, and the guy even admits it- he had been warned. If he knew he shouldn't have been doing it, why was he doing it? He was just asking for trouble.

I think if the cop did give the skater a warning, and the skater violated that warning, then the cops have a right to confiscate the scate. Nothing wrong with that. In fact I think the cop was very civilized. If I was a cop, and if the skater did not comply with my orders numerous times, i would have arrested him, and fined him for failing to comply with a police officer. It is a felony.
