Definitely not first gig, probably first recorded gig, and excellent too. 29th January 1978, Leicester Polytechnic, Dire Straits supported Climax Blues Band. I was helping the bands set up in the afternoon when these Geordies sound checked with "Sultans of Swing" and "Down by the waterline". I'd never heard of them, and still remember turning to Roger Ringwood (social sec) and suggesting they definitely had something! Awesome gig, and hearing this brings it all back. Was anyone else there?

Mark Knopfler: Great at the beginning, still Great. Saw him live during his Kill to get crimson tour. Awesome Stuff.
