All games (except for Zaxxon and Congo Bongo) can be played in either 4:3 or 16:9 ratio. u just gotta go in to "select filter" The game also comes with a "smoothing filter", which makes the games look less pixelated. :)

I find it funny that he thinks that you can't widescreen the games. If you press 'SELECT' on any game then go to 'VIDEO SETUP', you can go from the original size to a widescreen format, even on HD tvs. Just sayin'.

I've still got my Genesis with quite a bit of good classics that aren't even on this collection like Mystic Defender and Alisia Dragoon. I've got quite a bit of Disney games like Aladdin(Jafar in that game gave me nightmares as a kid) and Lion King. And I've got the first three Mortal Kombats. All of those games still work as well, and perfectly. I just unfortunately can't play 2 player on MK1 anymore for some reason.

You can actually switch to 16:9 on each game and it actually doesn't look too bad. The thing I don't get is the smoothing thing. It makes the background look okay but the actual characters on-screen look a bit weird.

When you're actually looking for specific games from stores that deal in selling classic games or from websites like eBay though, they tend to charge stupidly high amounts.

It's just like cars; some people may sell you a car for cheap because it's old, but others want insane amounts because they claim it's "vintage".

Well, Ristar is amazing, Streets of Rage 2 is an unparalelled masterpiece, Phantasy Star 4 is one of the best games ever, the original Sonic trilogy is exceptionally well-balanced and playable (with a challenge that is perfectly FAIR and some truly imaginative level designs, unlike the modern Sonic)--but Columns, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Alien Storm, and even the first Streets of Rage are pure trash--lacking in depth, creativity, or merit. Too bad there's no MUSHA or Gunstar Heroes!

@XxMrmoneyKing If you have a ps2, just get the sonic mega collection, I have the plus version, but I don't think it'll be much different. It has Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3, and Sonic & Knuckles, along with the game gear version, and The Mean Bean Machine or something like that. It's like an emulator in a way that you have savestates, but if you want to keep it original, then on games with a save feature you can just save on the menu with the saved games. There's also a ps2 sega saturn controller
