Jayne Meadows married to Steve was sister of Audrey Meadows who was The Honeymooners Alice. Liked Audrey best. She seemed less pretentious. Steve was so talented and quick witted. Really missed.
Gee, Doc Severnson's Tonight Show roots go WAYYYYYYY back! (3:09). If he was in the band during the Jack Paar era, then he was on the show for 39 years (1954-1992) - even longer than Johnny Carson!
Can't think of an entertainer today who is as multi-talented as Steve Allen was. Great post

its not a KKK band folks-- did you even listen to the intro? Steve says, "its not a KKK
meeting, remember its Halloween? Ghosts?" -- people a lot less uptight then than they are now. Just flippin' enjoy it!

Gene Rayburn WAS Steve's announcer on "THE TONIGHT SHOW", 'oldertv', which was on from 11:15pm to 1am(et).

All bands of that era could do stripper music by instinct.
