I thoroughly enjoyed John's stint with Petra, He was/is fantastic. But Greg Volz' version of this song us unsurpased vocal superiority.

There are songs during John's tenure I wouldn't want to hear Greg sing, and vice versa.

What he is saying her is that God convicts us on what we do wrong. And since this song is about betrayal when Judas betrayed god, when people would hear this in guitar hero they would feel the spirit of God which would be convicting them of their sinful ways. In other words he would convict them.

For the longest time, Paul Simmons was my biggest inspiration for percussion. Greg X Volz can sing like no other, but John Schlitt has that edge that Petra needed to progress through the 80's and onward. Everything worked the way God had planned, no doubt about that. Especially if you read their back stories. I wish Greg Bailey had been their bassist fulltime too. Beautiful musician.
