My CoD4 is weird with frames. I have Black Edition 6850 and at all times it will run 60 frames straight forward and only dropped 59 but somehow one I was playing campaign, it went over the maximum 60 FPS so suddenly 100-150 FPS which I don't understand how CoD graphic settings work.

This game doesnt requires any strong VGA card. I played this game when it just released in 2007 , on my old crapyy pc with a nVidia Geforce 6600 le 256 mb with 1GB of Ram. ha ha even that bottleneck can run this game.

this cards are low end cards and will play some games but not every game and not the new ones at max settings . wen u buy a card always buy gtx not gts gt , just gtx why they fix all the errors all other cards have and better heatsink i play this game also at 120 to 100 fraps all max at 1650X1024 with a gtx 460 :D

@Destruction52 had the same problem with my 9600GT. u have to change ur video card. its some damn issue with it, if u have warranty, change it immediately. or if you dont, buy something better, like a HD5670-5770 or 5850.

@Destruction52 LOL I have a GT220 right now, just like you. cuz my 9600GT is broken and i had to change it. some1 suggested me to buy the GT220. "it will be a lot more powerful." no its not, and for this price, i couldve bought a HD5670 which is a LOT stronger. and yeah about video cards i have other suggestions as well: so HD6850(as i said before) or HD5870 (might cost more) HD5770 (not as powerful as hd6850 but its a LOT cheaper and it aint weak either) or nVidia GTX460 (expensive but strong)

@Destruction52 yeah, something like it. but let me explain. the HD5770 is great for its price but it wont last very long. it can run crysis on like 15 fps on very high. the HD6850 is almost twice as strong as the hd5770 AT THIS GAME, AT THESE SETTINGS. so normally the hd6850 worths it but if you jsut cant afford it, the HD5770 will do well. and the GTX460... the gtx460 is a BIT better than the hd6850 but it costs more so you pay for the performance. with your mobo you can buy any VGAs *continue*

@Destruction52 what psu u ahve now? u wouldnt need 600W, 500W will do fine. btw look for prices on the internet. you'll only need a new VGA (if your psu is strong enough) so you can order it from one site. just look for a cheap card. btw the 5770 is good for you if are low on money. if you can afford it, dont think of getting a 5770. rather buy a 5870, 6850 or GTX460 instead. and GOOGLE these video card names for the lowest possible prices, and if you can, order one from the cheapest site.

@Eaze2009 I try to update the driver but when I did , I went to control panel and the screen freezes for a while , then i can get out and after 10 minutes the cpu is used at 99% without any reason.

uninstall the driver and then went back to the previous driver that comes with the gpu the v191.07

@Destruction52 search for sp46253.exe on google and install it after uninstalling your display drivers, it will update your card to 197 after that you can update to the latest version without any problem, but most likely your computer will install it for you.

you should be getting higher fps than 45-75 without recording,I run it on a dual core (same gc though) and I get 60-90,it's never dropped below 50.

You should turn down your anti-aliasing,you don't really need it when playing at high resolutions.

your laptop is trying to save power. on the bottom right of the screen there should be a icon that looks like a battery click on that and change the mode to high performance. your probably on power saver.
