There's no way the power numbers on this vid are right. If the Lightning really had 120 hp on the Stang it would beat the car without breaking a sweat. Either the Mach is underrated or the Lightning is overrated, one of the two.
Of course they stang had to race from a rolling start. That's the lightnings weakness. Do it from a complete stop and I'm willing to put my money on the lightning, depending also on what the stang had to have bolted on just to stand a chance. But stock vs stock...lightning, hands down.

How come every time I see a lightning race they driver is a failure!? They always leave it in OD and when the 3rd honk comes they punch the gas and a 1 second delay b4 it down shifts. Use the gear selection & put the freakin thing in the right gear it's not rocket science.

Nice Mach, Lightning fails again. My boss bought a Lightning and had similar power numbers as your friends after he got done pouring more money than whats its worth into it. Its a good 1/8th mile truck but after that its all down hill. Power is overrated when you dont have a rear end geared to really maximize its potential.
What are you talking about staying up with the mach??? They were starting off from a 60 mph roll. The lightning was already out of its power band at that speed. Thats why the mach kept pulling away like the lightning had hit a brick wall.

How come every time I see a lightning race they driver is a failure!? They always leave it in OD and when the 3rd honk comes they punch the gas and a 1 second delay b4 it down shifts. Use the gear selection & put the freakin thing in the right gear it's not rocket science.

that lightning should kill that mach 1.the mach is only putting down a 15rwhp more than a stock 03 cobra and is about 250lbs lighter.a good stock cobra runs about 12.8 at 112.the mach might run about 12.4 at 115.the lighting should easily run that

This race is from a roll anywyaz, which is going to favor the 5 speed car especially since the Lightning left it in drive...lol. So u have a Mach 1 add 100lbs for a SC & ur at 3500lb w/a true MT 5 speed, 170less rwhp/100 less rwt but better aerodynamics vs truck thats 1,200lbs heavier w/a 4speed+OD & its like a flying brick lol. 1,200lbs is so much! Plus better gearingsounds about right to me

Nice Mach, Lightning fails again. My boss bought a Lightning and had similar power numbers as your friends after he got done pouring more money than whats its worth into it. Its a good 1/8th mile truck but after that its all down hill. Power is overrated when you dont have a rear end geared to really maximize its potential.

What are you talking about staying up with the mach??? They were starting off from a 60 mph roll. The lightning was already out of its power band at that speed. Thats why the mach kept pulling away like the lightning had hit a brick wall.
