Also a cheap way of proof of copyright, mail yourself the plans with a newspaper clip inside, certified mail, and leave it sealed. If you ever are in court, you can have the envelope unopened or tampered with then opened by a judge. The postmark date works as a "I had this before" and it goes into the hearing minutes as documented as before the date of the postmark.
