  • I love u Johnyyy

  • Love this...omg!!! Love Johnny Depp...you are sooooo talented..thank you for sharing your talents with the world...

  • I clicked on the "AmazonMP3" link and downloaded the song from Amazon for $0.99. It plays on windiows fine. LOVE the song and the dance scene that it is played on in the movie! I go to a ballroom dance on Sundays and I'm gonna have them play it as a special request and dance to it.

  • does anyone know where i can get the guitar music for this without a USA tef. file as it's not compatible with windows?

  • Out of tune

  • @laughingogliphot

Obviously you are only comfortable with EADGBE tuning on a guitar. Ever heard of anything different, say, slack-key tuning from Hawaii, for example? There are literally hundreds of ways to tune a stringed instrument. Too bad you can't hear what the rest of us are hearing.

  • That is one nice guitar!!

  • this is eyes closed one hand on belly one in the air swaying around in a world of your own magic

  • I can taste the chocolat...

  • Beautiful music, and beautiful film.. Xxx

  • Could this song be any sexier or more romantic?? and having Johnny Depp play it in the movie is just unreal, what a combination. It's one of my favourite parts in the movie.

  • mmmmmmm scrum!!

  • un film veramente grazioso... non perchè c'era Deep. ..

  • Excellent !! my friend. Thumbs up of course. G.

  • he's just so damn hot

  • I never really used to like Johnny Depp, but in this movie he all of a sudden got very hot :)

  • how can someone be so perfect?????

  • how can people dislike this?! crazy people...such a lovely tune played by a lovely man (:

  • I would do him upsidedown and sideways...mmmmmmmm :D

  • Do someone know the name of the second song that they play on the boat? I mean between Minor swing and Caravan. Thanks

  • @AndrewTheShort i'm pretty sure it was They are red hot by Robert Johnson. if not then i don't know what it was. I hope I helped a little bit.

  • how much of a turn on is this?

  • @assasin990 Good point, maybe it is him. Though the part's undemanding technically, it's nicely played so 2 things led to my possibly wrong assumption. First all the pictures show him with a resonator guitar, a thumb pick & I thought I saw a slide somewhere (maybe in the movie) but it doesn't sound like it's played on a guitar like that. Also, as a full time guitarist in LA the past 30 years, friends & I have coached actors to mime guitar, & that's usually always what it is in any movie.

  • the guy started off as a guitarist before he went into acting, he played in the band P, the guys the real deal, he composed the theme for his character in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, also a part not being technically demanding doesnt imply the person playing it is doing so at their limits, the most stupid jealous comment I have seen recently, also you do know recorded soundtracks are not made by some guy on a film set they are done in a studio..

  • @lalalalala5151 no no you misunderstood me. I'm a fan of JD's acting & wouldn't be jealous if he was the greatest guitarist ever. Chocolat sounded better than I'd heard JD before. I thought a reader might understand the arrangement being simple increases the chances it's him, that it's well played decreases it & I think that usually the difference between a guitarist in an unsuccessful band like P & a pro studio musician is huge, like an ok local tennis player Vs a guy on the ATP pro tour.

  • @lalalalala5151 What were you thinking of to say "you do know recorded soundtracks are not made by some guy on a film set they are done in a studio" as though I wouldn't know that after I'd said that's what I do for a living? I know that. They're recorded by pros, then actors like Johnny are coached to mime it which was my original point. If it was him, why wouldn't he have used the same kind of guitar in the movie as the soundtrack recording instead of a resonator with thumbpick, capo & slide?

  • @RobMackenzie

omg because of all sorts of reasons, like first just quite simply being travel, insurance, props

sexcondly being in an unseuccessful band does not mean the people in it were bad players.

I think you have your head up your ass and a really weird view of the world and what people are able to do. I think probably also you think that someone can't be amazing at something that isn't their actual current career. You seem like a pratt.

  • @lalalalala5151

I totally agree w you there can be great "unsuccessful" players, hence I said "usually the difference" (between pro & not).

Please read my 4 posts & assasins again slowly. Why should you insult me, a lifetime pro player just for posting my opinion, agreeing with some earlier posts here, & giving some reasonable reasons that maybe Johnny isn't on the soundtrack? Just my now mildly held opinion, hope I'm wrong & it is him. Love his acting & he seems cool.

  • I'm a JD fan too, but reading these comments it seems some of you think Johnny's actually playing the guitar you hear, or that he wrote the music. He didn't play or write any of it. These are professional musicians you're hearing. As a musician, Johnny's a fantastic actor.

  • @RobMackenzie why do you think this couldn't be johnny depp? I'm not saying this is he playing but he can play a guitar pretty well so...

  • @RobMackenzie actually johnny plays the guitar very well, and he played the guitar on the soundtrack and in the movie!!

  • @glodsbride86 Actually he is now playing the guitar in the soundtrack and the movie bu yes he plays really good anyway... :-)

  • @tolokiso i mean NOT

  • @RobMackenzie It's only fair to assume that JD is really one of the guitarists. Not just because he plays guitar but because he is credited for it along with Malcolm Ross. They're both credited together (and as only guitarists) under Minor Swing/They're Red Hot/Caravan :-).

  • @GnewGnewGnew You're probably right. My earlier post sure was jaded :-) After spending 30 years as a full time guitarist in Hollywood, seeing numerous actors coached to make it look like them playing in movies, then JD on screen not fingering the parts properly, & doing 4 other things alien to the soundtrack: playing a completely different category of guitar (steel bodied resonator) using finger picks, capo & slide, that scream blues/rock, not Django, I assumed it was the same old Bs. Sorry :)

  • @RobMackenzie You know what? It's even worse then that! When they're playing this song, Caravan, JD isn't even playing! He is dancing with J. Binochet! O-M-G! :-) I don't know why he is playing on the guitar he is playing, or why he is playing accords/notes he is playing, I wasn't on the set. But in the soundtrack credits under three songs I already mentioned stays: Guitars Johnny Depp / Malcolm Ross; Percussion Iain Stoddart; Harmonium Malcolm Ross.

  • @GnewGnewGnew and you guys actually sound convince of your somewhat noledge, just buy the movie and you will ear the director saying that johnny in fact did more than fingering he actually created that sound he is also a painter created the cover of Vanessa s last Album, a great family man a real artist at heart and soul. to me you are both the jalous kind....................

  • Comment removed

  • @Bee8724 I believe he's created cover for more than one album. Anyway, please, next time first read the comment and then hit reply not other way around :-) I pointed out to RobMackenzie, that JD is credited for this and two other songs as a guitarist but nonetheless on screen it looks little bit suspicious plus his character isn't even playing the guitar while they play this song thus onscreen action doesn't imply and isn't the proof he isn't really playing it on the soundtrack.

  • @RobMackenzie 30 years in hollywood isnt it L.A.how come beeing such an experience guitarist in hollywood have i no knoledge of you beeing such a musicien and underminding Johnny s skill on youtube in my playlist by the way .... bitching shoulnd you be the one hired to compose the perfect soundtrack and the perfect fingering .......c est n importe quoi all i get from your post is a bitter negative person and dont you be sorry anymore not your falt if you are Bs. (hitter) jajajaja

  • Nice job with a standard Johnny. You added your own flair to it. I enjoyed the laid back, unhurried quality of this version. And I haven't even seen the film yet - but I will soon. If only to hear more of the soundtrack. Nice to find this here tonight. Peace Brother (Life, Love Light)

  • it's really seductive. and not even because it's him. it's the music, it's making me shiver.

  • @MadamePetrarca I totally agree with your comment (:

  • @bhuvlarrflowerss oh thank you very much :) it's just how it made me feel :)

  • i like u johnny depp

  • i ve never known a man who is so talented.

  • Questa melodia è dolce però allo stesso e nostalgica *-* <3....chocolat come film dire che è stupendo e dire poco! <3...Johnny Depp è troppo sensuale!!!

  • No he didn't compose this xD He just played the guitar in the movie, I don't know if he's the one playing it in the sound track tho or if it is the original..

  • I didn't know Johnny Depp played this, and I thought he was a total sex god before, and I thought this song was heavenly, but now I know this info, JOHNNY IS BEYOND DEVINE!

  • From what I have heard Johnny never created any of the pieces on the soundtrack but he did play acustic guitar on the film.

  • He didn't compose it, Bozos.

  • Johnny did an interview on Rosie O'Donnel when the movie first came out, to promote it, and He is quoted as saying He played the guitar in some movie scenes, perhaps not the soundtrack. To verify my facts, you can search for the interview on Youtube under " Johnny Depp Interview on Rosie " If you watch in the movie, he knows the chords, which I understand it is VERY obvious when someone is " pretending " to play !!

  • where can you download this song?

  • i just can't sit still with this music, it's so wonderfull I whish i could play it on my guitar

  • Ooow johnny

i have a squeek in my doorrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Minor swing was done in 1937 by Django Reinhart, a renowned french/gypsy jazz guitarist. I'm not sure about caravan, but the soundtrack says that Rachel Portman did it?

  • @devilstar13 Rachel Portman may be the person who arranged this particular version of the tune, but she didn't compose it. It was definitely written by Ellington and Tizol, and first recorded by the Duke Ellington Orchestra in the 1930s.

  • @xemzysparrax FYI "Caravan" is a jazz standard composed by Juan Tizol and first performed by Duke Ellington in 1937. It has appeared in two Woody Allen films, Alice and Sweet and Lowdown. Rap musicians Redman and Busta Rhymes sampled the song heavily in their 1998 song "Da Goodness" (from Redman's album Doc's da Name 2000), as well as Rachel Portman in her score for Chocolat.

  • I love this

  • check on IMBD...he's ..i dont have words..aswome is not enough to say...

  • 7 dislikes :O like if you disagree with the 7 haters!!

  • Wonderful tune...exotic and sensual...

  • i want to dance with him

  • hi! :)

could anyone pls tell me from where can i download the sound track of this movie,

    pls.....

  • Minor swing is the song he plays at the party -- the first one, a very upbeat turn. The one he's playing here is called Caravan and is playing when he and Vienne dance at the party, much later. It's by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington.

  • PHWOOOOARRRRRRRR

  • the song he plays when she comes to see him is V'la l'bon vent. it's a french traditional song. Generally for kids :)

  • i know right, but he is still the hottest man alive... :)

  • yes!

  • @ariesinheaven Nah! The human torch is the hottest man alive!!!!

  • does johnny really play this?

  • Unforunately no. According to the film's soundtrack, Rachel Portman played this, though I'm not sure if she wrote it. She did compose the whole score for the film though.

  • this is Caravan a jazz standard composed by Juan Tizol and made famous by Duke Ellington, Rachel Portman didn't write this one, or Minor Swing for that matter (Django Reinhardt wrote that), and Johnny didn't play either one. It is a beautiful cover though as is Minor Swing...

  • what's it called?

  • Ooo, la,la I like it!

  • keroncong. nice!!:)

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • Its a resonator guitar.

  • whats the name of the song hes playing wen she comes to invie him to that party.... and she was sayin that her mom used to sing it to her... i really want it can anyone help me??

  • ohh.. man no that helped alot because now i wont look for it.... thanks

  • I think you're talking about Minor Swing by Django Reinhardt.

  • no im not... im talking about the song were she was like my mom used to sing that song to me when i couldnt fall asleep

  • if you find out i would love to know what it is

  • i found out its not a real/complete song

it was only made for that part of the movie only

  • hes is freakin amazing... makes great music great actor and is the sexiest older man i have ever seen and looks great for is age.... and im sure many agree

  • why does he have to be 28 years older than me???? its not fair

  • hahaha i no right lol

  • hod...i love how johnny sings on that guitar...:X:X:X

  • Caravan is a jazz standard, composed by Juan Tizol; first performed by the Duke Ellington Orchestra. You can find the music in any jazz fake book or real book (probably at any library).

  • Thanks Mihaela (My Johnny Depp Lover)..

This is a wonderful guitar version of this Song...the guitar can be one of the most romantic instruments when used and played well....Thanks again my Friend!

  • Is this the song he composed for the movie? I read somewhere that he did one of the soundtracks of the movie :) I love this tune!

  • Yeah, this is one of the two he did ;) he did Minor swing and this one

  • Comment removed

  • Minor Swing is composed byDjango Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli

  • @xemzysparrax

Minor Swing is a song from Django for as far as I know??

  • @xemzysparrax Minor Swing is by Django Reinhardt, isn't it?

  • @xemzysparrax minor swing isn't his, i don't know about this one.

he did make his own cover though

  • @xemzysparrax Johnny Depp did not compose the two tunes. Minor swing was composed by Django Reinhardt and this one is a jazz standard composed by Duke Ellington. I saw the movie Chocolate and Depp isn't even playing for real in the movie. Watch closely.

  • @PodvodnaDrakula totally agree

  • @xemzysparrax Minor swing is not composed by johnny.

  • @xemzysparrax This song is called CARAVAN.. Depp does a nice rendition, though NOT ORIGINAL.

  • @xemzysparrax he didnt write minor swing its a cover that hes done well

     :)

  • @xemzysparrax Fuck wrong. The original is Djang Reinhardt. Although the song in this interpretation is awesome too and gives a very good voice to the oroginals, the real one will always be Django. Both Minor swing both Caravan....

  • @xemzysparrax Minor swing? Are you kidding? Who is Django Reinhardt right?

  • @evansblack Well the actual tune isn't composed by him, they are both jazz standards (caravan and minor swing) these are his interpretations of these tunes.

  • @evansblack Johnny Depp didn't compose this song. It was composed by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington. Minor Swing was composed by Django Reinhardt.

  • @evansblack Johnny Depp did not compose this song. It was composed by Duke Ellington and Juan Tizol in the 1930s. "Minor Swing" was composed by Django Reinhardt.

  • I don't think it's so difficult to play it. There are two guitars, one is playing the melody und one the accompaniment. It sounds very nice, but it's not amazing.
