@DaFuckinSchwartz He just uses standard Sabian HHX chinas. 18 and 20 inch or something. I've got an 18, it's got the attack of like a 16 but with the fullness of an 18. I'd still prefer 20, but I like my cymbals HUGE.

love the edgy, flamboyant style. he uses rests like a weapon. he also plays the instrument in a way no one else really does. people think a song has to be structured to perfection and rhythmically similar in some areas. whereas this is edgy, daring and different. you go out on the edge every day with ideas, one day you will be recognized for it.

certainly cannot criticize a guy for daring to be different and trying new unexplored ideas with the instrument

I don't think he's a fucking freak. If he was, you'd see a video of him fucking. Maybe his trance-like style is just his way of feeling it, or maybe it is necessary for him to create the kind of power his incredible playing requires. In actuality, he is an incredible drummer and offers some great teaching clips and has written some nice instructional books.
