They abducted 200,000 Asians (also Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & then buried them alive to save bullets.
Japanese govt won't apologize to any of surviving sex slaves.
In 2007, Japanese govt org bought 1 pg. of Wall Street Journal & filled it with OUTRAGEOUS LIES: 1) the females were whores who volunteered to service Japanese soldiers. 2) Japanese govt paid them more Japanese army generals.

@MrHockey691 Sorry, but you are wrong. The remaining Japanese air power had been removed in January 1945 and moved to other locations, I believe Taiwan and Okinawa. Thee were a few aircraft left for kamikaze strikes but these were destroyed by TF 58 sweeps weeks before the invasion.
The wanted the airfields for fighters to escort bombers to Japan and for bombers returning that couldn't make it back to the Marianas.
@MrHockey691 I don't know if I can hit the exalted ranks of a schooled historian, I am just a former Marine that wants to make sure that we get the facts straight and keep them straight. There are too many revisionists or miss-informed, especially on YT and I try to make sure we don't forget or confuse this vital area of our history. Many men died for us and I will not let their memories be forgotten or edited.
@Isupporthetroops you for get a powerful juggernaut called the Red Army. They where bound to win because of sheer numbers alone, combined with the Brits they could have won.
Our own power was used to destroy US IMO, what victory was there in 1945, look around from Japan, Christchurch, Toronto to your town and our open borders for savages.
@fp470 yes u are right .the us had beenpretty much incursive .but they had been subtle about it .ww2 allowed the go about placing bases worldwide and pretty much colonising the world.
the only mistake made by the Japanese was waking the economic monster and supreme war machine of the Americans and taking the Americans on their own. Either you surrender to us or fire shall rain from the skies with unimaginable and unforgettable fury. if you strike us you will likely feel full retaliation.
@NoOdL3z21 dude if we didnt win than the soviets would have done it...... For the few days they fought the Japanese they conqured almost all of manchuria.
i love flags of our fathers and letters of Iwo Jima. they really gave both perspectives and how both sides suffered terribly emotionally and physically.
everything that the Japanese were planning to do was known to the United States ARMY BOARD, 1944
President Roosevelt (FDR) provoked the attack, knew about it in advance and covered up his failure to warn the Hawaiian commanders. FDR needed the attack to sucker Hitler to declare war, since the public and Congress were overwhelmingly against entering the war in Europe.
FDR blinded the commanders at Pearl Harbor and set them
In the End I would bet you Smedley Butler was sorry, very sorry he did not help arrest FDR in 1933, as he should have. FDR Recognized the USSR, first Nation to do so was US. Then bumbing off Huey P. Long, and then Dec. 7, 1941.
Howdy, lets not forget the 100% Chontrived So Called Depression the brought suffering in the extreme to millions of good folk. FDR called in all Gold too. A heck of....
i dont think it was very smart of the Japanese General to let the entire American Army get on the beaches b4 they started firing..not smart at all..especially with only 86,000 men against 122,000 battle hardened Americans..
actually it is, if the allies get to the beach they will be trap between the japs and the ocean, but of course that will give them some time to let the tanks cross the beaches.
@barats1 It's really a smart move in my opinion. Since they have limited supplies, the element of surprise becomes their greatest weapons. Letting the American troops pile up in highly-concentrated numbers on the beaches before firing simultaneously from multiple angles of attack. Plus, the numbers of Japanese on Iwo Jima was around 18,000 men.
@barats1 actually it was very smart because it funneled them into a kill zone. This way the sand would slow down the infantry. It also allowed the element of suprise for the Japanese. And it also gave the Americans less time to spot artillery positions and muzzele flashes.
Your also forgetting the fact the Japan had been at war far longer then America and that it was the Japanese who were more battle hardened. The Americans biggest advantage was numbers and resources.
Japanese were as evil as Nazis.

what the movie didnt include was that the japanese had immense air power on the island
MrHockey691 1 year ago
@MrHockey691 That's because they didn't. The Japanese had no remaining aircraft on Iwo during the invasion.
Toddinfantry 1 year ago
@Toddinfantry yes they did the reason they went for the island was because of the air power and well they had to win the war

japans attack on pearl habor was what brought the usa to the forfront of the world .the us was an isolationist country before that.
hisholyhoviness 2 years ago 5
Hmm lets see all those incursions into South America from the Monroe Doctrine to 45 tend to be forgotten now dont they?
Also the WW1 and th e active campagaining by Roosevelt are not isloationist.
But true Pearl Harbour marked the official end of isolationism.

yeah it was true that they actually woke America but still, if it wasn't for the Japanese, the 'westerns' wouldn't view us like we are equal at all.
Messerchmitt11B 3 years ago 3
That's true. Shame so many people had to die. Never forget the events of May 26, 1945. 200,000 innocents dead.

@NoOdL3z21 Correct.But don't forget,that the USA never fought alone.
Of course you have superior weaponry but don't forget what history says.
You won too many battles, but never a war alone.
Germany was fighting alone,Japan was fighting alone. When did you fight alone?
