@abigailsiobhanxx either your pushing the fret in the wrong spot or more likely your not using enough pressure make sure you go straight down and push the string all the way down to the fret board

@abigailsiobhanxx maybe you need to push harder with your fingers :) or make sure your other fingers aren't touching other strings... i'm only a beginner + i've had this problem + pressing harder seems to cure it, although it really hurts! :P

@2468haleyy a power chord is like only using the first two or three strings on the guitar. just mute the rest on the strings with your index finger... ummmm your fingers should be a fret apart when playing the power chord. they are usually used for rock type of stuff. (first two or three strings as in only the low E, the A, and, D.)
