@DarthBlam What it does is that whenever you take damage (any kind) you drop a fake body there and only take 10% of the damage taken (90% damage reduction). It also douses fire unless the pyro keeps spraying (which 90% of them do).

@TheDestroyerOfHumans It's called quickswitching and i do it as well, it is just like a reflex, everytime i am walking i automatically quickswitch, there is no particular reason for it.

Experienced players knows that you are using dead ringer and will constantly hunt down for you, but large maps like badwater where you have alot of ammos ard is good to use dead ringger.

good tut but one thing i STILL see everyone do is use the DR when getting hit from the first bullet. it just bugs me, idk y but it makes it seem obvious that your using the DR. like, if you get hit a couple of times before using it, then it would look like (to the enemey) that your dead now, when your still alive, ready for revenge...

dude when facing a pyro and dr is active keep it up unless there water or a health pak no after burn and 1 damage for every second he still burning u

the dmg reduction only lasts 6.5sec, so if i were to see an ammo pack nearby that can replenish my ammo, i'd decloak and grab it instead. this is highly situational though; i wouldn't say there is a correct or wrong answer to it.

but yeah the pt is to make your escape run last the longest so that you can make it back to your team in time.

Solid video. I actually didnt know the DR didnt have the outline show up if the spy made contact with someone, explains a lot.

I just want to say that rapidly switching weapons is a habit many people have, including myself, but it looks horrible on camera and is very distracting to the viewer.

If I have to pick something that was lacking though, it would be that you need to pause or something when you slap text up on the screen.

The way it is now it forces the viewers to pause the video to read, which is never fun.

To be fair it provides some form of "security"; silly, I know, but it's handy to know that your last weapon you switched to was your revolver so you can pull it out quickly and blow someone away.

hahahaha you have the same exact habit as i do as spy. i change between revolver and knife over and over. except i use the last weapon key. very annoying habit im trying to kick. i also have one where i do the same thing with the DR. can cause serious problems when i get hit just as i lower my DR.

hmm really sorry to my viewers about this weapon switch habit i have, but i guess the best explanation i can offer is that.. it irks me when you move around just holding W? and when the time comes for me to perform a stab or sth it's easier because i just pressed the same keys seconds ago?
