They “embarrassed” themselves because Mario managed to reignite his star power for another fifteen minutes. And that power would illuminate ACL for those in the shadow of the mainstream. I love RENT and Wicked and Spring Awakening. Those musicals are modern and accessible, but stuff like ACL often eludes my generation. Sometimes we need crap reality shows with crap D-listers like him to make us pay attention :-)

He's not a dancer, period. Nice moves, but would never be considered a dancer by any professional standard. I don;t know why ACL embarrassed themselves having him star on B'way. Not only that, but cast members said he was a pill to work with, and he threw a hissy fit because HE wanted Nick Adams to cover up his tank top (those costumes are in place since '76) because he has a better body than Lopez. Nuts.

Mario Lopez was much a do about nothing. Nick Adams was the real star and talent of the show, maybe enhanced by Lopez's lack of ability.

The glaring, obvious omissions in the film 'Every Little Step' are not only indicative of a much more UNSAVORY story, but barely scratch the surface of what occurred in the world of the original 'A Chorus Line.' NEVER in the history of New York Theatre had a cast of hard working, loyal and passionate artists ever been SO screwed over psychologically, monetarily & emotionally, than by exec producer John Breglio, Michael Bennett, and their other now deceased co-horts. Absolutely reprehensible!
