  • In the next 50 years Thai people will come up with something like some one from Thailand wrote this song and change some of the versions or try to make it sounds like Thai old song. Is that ridiculous to hear Thai sing a song which means so much other nation and the song describes how much it means to Lao people. The singer has no shame to sing the song about other country's national flower.

  • very well done! quite different from the traditonal, but lovely regardless. :)

  • well done.......you have sung this classic song in your own unique way with your passion....

it makes me missing my home country ever more.

  • คนร้องได้อารมณ์ดี

  • SAMKOI56: However, I wonder when the current Lao government officials will know and ready to accept that the current Lao government officials have tons of Lao abroad ready to go back and help develop the country instead of letting other nations coming into Lao pretending to develop Laos but instead ripping away Lao's natural resources.

  • @carolinakoi Hey, you are not kidding! Last summer of 2011, I went there and found out that the chinese had a big operation of gold mine set up in Attapeu. They took ton of gold out of our country "Laos".

  • SAMKOI56: I agree with you about forgetting the past and moving forward. However, the past is lesson for all us Lao roots to know, to learn and teach onto future generations so that the same tragedy shall never happen again.

  • No. Laos is not prefer to be friend with Vietnam, I decided to escape Laos 30 years ago because I saw that Lao Communist government posted Hochiminh's picture in every government office like he is our king, not even one picture of Lao leader. Vietnam is different from us in every angle, but how can we do we can't trust Thai either. I wish Isan is independent country so we can be together again not with THAI Kroongthep. Right now we (Lao) is robbing by Viet. HELP.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • that's very smooth!

  • but this subtitle is thai language, if m not wrong?

  • I feels so blessed when listening to this song,

thank you for sharing one. In the past until present

Lao people always want to be nice and friends

with thai Esaan people ,but Esaan itself tried not to

understand Lao nothing they act very stupide and

no complaindez Lao . Please understandthat.

  • Laos and Thailand need to work together to bring peace and prosperity to our people. We have to do just like the United States and U.K helping each other

in good time and in bad time. Do not let Burma and Vietnam to sandwhich us..

  • @Laohaklao Lao have to be Thai slaves to bring peace and prosperity.

  • Dok Champa my home in LuangPrabang the champa trees on Phu Si reminds me of my childhood in the 60's. So long ago and so new like yesturday.

  • he very good... best wish...

  • I do not care who sings this song. Hopefully every nation around the world can sing this song. That makes LAO SONGs become popular.

  • very very nicely done. love this version as well! nothing beats a piece of classic.

  • the sweetness of a girl or woman's voice is meant for this song. I can see he really puts a lot of effort into it, but not as good as other version.

  • History should teach us something. United we stand, then we can be strong and prosperous again like Lang Xang one day soon.

  • Comment removed

  • @samkoi56 What did you mean by " United we stand." Unite with whom ?

  • Let's forget about the past. Lets not differentia between Lao and Thai because we are so close to each other in many ways. We should work together to bring peace and prosperity for both countries. Laos needs Thailand as much as Thailand needs Laos. This is the 21st century, it is time for reconciliation, integration and globalization. In order for Laos to further develop and modernize its economy, Laos needs to work with all the neighbors not only Thailand but the whole region as well.

  • @samkoi56 Amen!

  • @samkoi56 Yes I am Lao I wish we can forget the past, BUT can you see? when we cross Mekong neetai from Communist, Thai Nong Khai and police officer did every thing possible to THAI (khood reed or suck our money). Did they think for a second that we escape with a little just to survive? NO they are just the way they were hundred years ago take advantage of the weaks. I think Kmer and Viet (youan) can't escape the same fate like our Lao people, lucky that I survive, but my brother was not.

  • thai and laos were still fighting at the border in the 80's. in the 70's during communist regime attacked in laos coup country, the refugees crossed megkon river. the thai killed thounsands of laos ppl. the only reason that thai ppl look good now cuz they are mixed blood with chinese and laos. true thai blood has darker skin.

  • Adjacent nations have conflicts in some mments along the timeline of history. Haven't ur ppl faught China, Vietnam, Kamir, Burma? And Siam gave support to ur ppl until the French took over. Now lots of Loatians work in Thailand &watch Thai channels in their homeland. Wiser2 keep the good relationship like the peaceful character of Loatians who are generous and speak of friendship not hatred. Even ur president said well &paid respect to Prachoamahachiwit during his visit. Y not follow ur leader.

  • That's a classic Lao song...great job!

  • Thailand and Loa are good friends always.

  • "real thai" people are not good friends with laotian. in the 80's, thai vegged war with laos to claim land. in the history, one should look at how thai have enslaved thousands of laos people. chai mai and isan, the southern part of thailand, one will find people speaking in a mix of laotian and thai dialect. as today, chinese and thai will fabricate any history to proclaim laotian.

  • @DrTanawat Thais and Lao are enemies forever !

  • @shonietojve U r not a true buddhist at all. Shame on ur country education. So u prefer being friends with Vietnam to Tahiland, rite? I tell u dat u can only b the dog of Vietnam as many Vietnamese ppl say about ur country FOREVER !

  • @DrTanawat Did I say Laos prefers being friend to Vietnam ? When ? And shame on your country education too !

  • @shonietojve YES ! You are right ! Thais and Lao are forever enermies.

  • Oh Duang Jampa is one of Lao national songs. I remember when I was a kid, I danced (phon) to the Duang Jampa song. Id has done a great job with this song. . .to me it sounds more modern and soothing. Five stars to Id. He really rocks.

  • Good remix--thanks for up load it.

  • u r suck"""""""""""""thai or siam.they didn't call donk champa.ok!!!!u should know that if u r a real thai.listen to the song he said champa moung lao.right.he didn't say champa(druntom moung thai)m i rit?

  • @avknj1964 You are right ! I agree !

  • 5*****

  • I really like his vocals.

  • I hate everythings about him. hahahaha!!

Worst singer of all time. hahaha!!!

  • This is an old old Lao song called "Jampa Muang Lao" Fly performed it very well. I give him 5 stars.

  • Classic lao song, nicely done by thai singer

  • One of the greatest loa song of all time. Good remix dude. I love it.

  • good remix by thai artist very good re edition...

but still some thai accent and the style of singing is different. u can feel it but the song should be more mellow with some khim sound...

go listen to noi sengsouriya's version that's a true one. u can feel her passion for the song. sweet sound in her voice...

lots of thai are taking laos song to sing guessing to gain popularity and sell...

    he's a good artist though

  • Very good indeed! this song is great, it should be Lao National song.

  • And he's a peter puffer too.

  • Nicely Done! The Lao version does not compare to this.

  • lao version is the original and it's great. like many artists that borrowed every artists's music, there are different flare. if one should think that the copied version into thai version is great then it's a matter of opionion. i think the singer tried too hard.

  • I disagree. Siampura doesn't mean dark skin. Pura is the same as Bury, it means city or town. Siam as country came from Siamkok a tribe of old time in the delta of Mae Nam which changed its name to Mae Nam Chaophraya in the last 200 years or so.

  • i came across this song....gosh...it's beautiful although i dont understand a bit.

simply beautiful, a great piece of work composed! thanks for uploading...

  • This song is everlasting in the heart of all Lao ppl. Whether they live, in Laos, in Isaan, Lao Lana, in Sip Song Phana, in Assam (India), or in Lao in Shan State in Myanmar or overseas. The singer distorded the original content of the song.

  • So is he Chinese or Japanese?

  • it is unfortunate that because of some Thais' attitudes, all of us are perceived as snobs who look down on Lao people. As they say, ปลาเน่า 1 ตัวแต่เหม็นไปทั้งแข่ง

So obviously Thai people who sing this song are the people who appreciate Lao's national flower and culture

  • kayness1, I agree with you. I am Laotian and can only see this as an effort by the Thai neighbor to reach out to us. There are goods and there are bad in all races, nationals, and even Aliens from other planets.

  • Part 3

oh fair Jampah, flower of the nation of Laos, beautiful as the stars, we are exalted when you bloom across the land. When I must depart my beloved home, I'll bring you as my companion, and you will be with me till the end of my days, oh fair jampah, my truly beautiful flower, flower of the lao people

  • Part 2

Your scent tugs at my heartstrings, I adore you and will always cherish you. When I grow lonely, I try to recall you, your scenet, it feels as if my long departed friend is with me again, a beautiful flower, oh fair jampah, my beloved flower, mine...

  • Part 1

oh my fair jampah, every time that i look at you, i miss my home. my belovest I recall your scent. i can see the garden where my dad build it long ago. When I grow lonely, you remedy my sadness. Oh, my fair jampah you are always there, since I was young....

  • this is the translation for this song. There are 3 parts of this song.

  • I think the singer done a great job. Fly didn't kill the song that's for sure. He is a great performer.

  • i listen to my grandmother sing this song all the time. but get what she is laos people. she live in luangpabang when she was kid. luangpabang is in laos. and the king of laos used to live there when they was lived. i grand mother was told me liked that when i was little kid

  • great! =]

  • still great song ,something different

  • this is song is still my favorite!!!

where can i find his music?

    let me know pls^^

  • Great song, but not the best version available .... this guys's a bit too melodramatic, and where are all the pretyt sao lao?

  • lol

  • It's not a secret that Lao & Thai languages are close. Back in 745, the 5th son of King KhunBorom, Khun Inh took 10,000 Ailao families came from Nong Sae and built Ayuthaya, later became Siam then Thailand. His elder brother Khun Lo came down to Muang Xua and proclaimed Lane Xang (Laos). The fact that Thai has more Sanskrit in their language b'cse their land was ancient Kmer, and ancient Kmer had Hindu as their Faith. Sanskrit is the principal language of Hindu.

  • Am I the only one who doesn't like this version?

  • This is also my favorite song...and this version is very deep! love the way how he delivered it!

    thanks for sharing!

  • Nice voice Id Fly, you got to pronouce it right. don't make fun of my language.

  • so how do you pronounce 'Id Fly' correctly?

  • eeed

  • kayness1,

    thanks a lot.

  • Don't be confused, a lot of morlam songs from Thailand are sung in mixed Lao and Thai, and the Lao is often pronounced with extra letters like Thai. Thai people from Bangkok have difficulty understanding Isan language (which is just Lao language). That's why movie Yam Yasothorn, in Isan language, is subtitled.

  • The contrast between Lao and Thai languages are:

Lao used more Pali ,Thai more Sanskrit which is pronounced more RRRRRRRRRR!!!!for ex:lao:pany thai:pranee;both of them have the same meanings.

Pali and Sanskrit come from India (buddhist literatures).

Buddha teachings were orally recorded and transmitted

in Pali dialects.Sanskrit was a classical standard language of ancient India. Both of them are literary and sacred languages of Hinduism( a scriptural language of Buddhism).

  • Gosh thanks for this info!! I'm neither Thai or Laotian, but Khmer, and of course Khmer is heavily influenced by both Pali and Sanskrit. But I'm trying to learn and it's so interesting to see the similarities AND differences of languages in SE Asia.

  • lolz nice song, but he looks like he is trying a little too hard

  • very beautiful way to sing the national flower of my country, thanks fly

  • yeaaa a male person sind dok champa!!! good! prefer a lao singer, but its ok

  • I believe the original song, was singing by male singer

in early 50's(written by MAHA PHOUMY).And also had a lot

of different meanings(not, just only our national flowers). He compare the flowers as his girl friend(LAO

girl).LAO language always compare something, when they are in love!!!! GREAT song!!! love it!!!

  • i never hear from a lao male.

  • IN early 50'S we did not even have tape recording. Most

they have sung in BOUN WAT,WEDDING,and the radio.AND also they are amateurs.LATER they adapted to NATHASING

(LAO dance) in CHAO ANOU(primary school koualuang (vientiane).Actually the singer came from my hometown.

Everytime ,when they had wedding or boun.YOU just went

there ,it was free.WE shared!!!!That how are culture are!!!!! KOP chaii laii laiiIII

  • ***** WOW***** Thanks for the wonderful song, I really do admire Ead Fly for putting so much energy and emotion in this song..LOVE IT!!

  • That brings all memories back.I wish they were sung by

baby face or PUBB DADDY.you guess what ?????????big bucks???that song was written early 50.we should be proud of our cultures.look at RAPP is very similar to our SEUNG bang fy or morelam!!!!we should be proud!!
