  • wow, i've had this exact same philosophy for years: the only reason people have problems with alcohol and drugs is because OF THEIR PROBLEMS! it's called self-medicating, folks ~ but it's easier to throw everyone into a "12 step program" to try and get you to self medicate some more by swapping your addiction from drugs & alcohol for cigarettes and coffee, or just the meetings in general...i know plenty of people who are literally addicted to AA or NA!

  • The book is conflicted only in the use of the word alcoholic/cure/addiction.

Otherwise it follows known and ulitized therapeutic detox/treatment.

  • He's right on the mark as far as the chemical imbalance (due to the abuse or due to body genetics), the unresolved past issues, coping with current situations and the belief they are "hopeless" and have a disease.

Good for you Chris Prentiss for making this video and providing an environment with such support and beauty for people to begin their journey to health.

  • This is an advertisment for 'Passages Malibu'. According to fox news (though a dubious source):

"We're at the high end," said Chris Prentiss, co-founder of Passages, a Malibu, Calif., rehab facility that charges $39,500 per month.

    ... get stuffed

  • not to mention that when he used the word cure, he essentially admitted that they were diseases, because how are you going to cure something thats not a disease? idiot

  • this is completely ridiculous. Alcoholism and addiction are diseases, there is no cure. This guy is out of his mind.

  • you are a fuckin r tard. Chris Prentiss is a genius. Im attending passages right now after attending numerous 12 step programs, for 1, alcoholism n addiction are NOT diseases, Passages success rates can speak for themselves, second of all, there is no fucking god. go worship your false god and live with your so called "disease" for the rest of your lives, and doom yourself to everlasting recovery, with relapse hovering over your head constantly. i feel sorry for your dumb ass.
