well i'm basing it off my knowledge from being a member of maxima.org and owning a 5.5 gen maxima myself. That's why i find it hard to believe since i have a SRI intake and a 2.5 inch catback exhaust and that only put me up about 10-15 hp.

@Raven0213 a 5.5th gen maxima is not the same as a 4th gen altima. sure they both use a VQ35, but its not the same VQ35 motor. But as i said, all you have to do is watch my dyno vids, and search around on nissanclub and you will see i'm not the only 4th gen altima with these gains. I'm at 265whp and 256TQ right now with intake, y-pipe, and axleback (axleback doesnt really do much if anything). Its well documented on what this car puts out.

i seriously doubt you gained over 20 hp off of an intake....especially with stock headers. First of all, the growl you hear is just the intake taking in way too much air for the engine, if anything you probably gained 5 hp if you're lucky. For an intake to work you need some headers, block off plates, bigger maf, intake spacers, and an exhaust WITH a tune to see actual gains that you are claiming.

I'm not just pulling numbers out of the air. judging from your comments and your opinion, you are basing it off what you "think" will happen before you actually look up the info. There are multiple other 4th Gen altima owners with similar gains.

did you reflach the ecm so it would recognize the extra air flow or did you just bolt it on and hop on the dyno? how much faster is it and how noticable is it? Does it shut down at 125? If you're wondering why so many questions is b/c i too own an 07 altima 3.5SE which is currently bone stock

no need to reflash the ECU with just the bolt on. the car adjust for the increased air flow naturally. I have a manual, so it will be faster than a CVT if that is what model you have. I assume you have the CVT since you talk about 125mph limit. the manuals go to 155 before the governor kicks in.

To each his own. Not dissing the Maxima, but i test drove a 5.5th gen Max with a 6 spd, and it was fast and comfortable, but the altima beat it in every way. and the 6th gen maxima is big outside, but less room inside than the 4th gen altimas, and the Altima was faster.

DO not get me wrong,you're car is great,by far the best looking Altima i've ever seen,I just prefer the different body style,only thing I HATE is how fucking heavy it is now..i like the body but they can easily lighten up...that's why I still love my old '96 maxima,fast and light...I've never driven an altima of that gen,So I personally can't say which is a better drive.

both the manuals for those cars did 0 to 60 5.9 but the 07 would win in the quarter mile and so on engine is better and you have to be pro or have a certain road or gass type or temperature to do 0 to 60 5.9. i watch this car in other video do 5.8 nice ride importoller
