I never finished this game, but judging from the Silver Dragons, I can tell something went pretty heywire with the Kuja subplot, I think I left off 10 years ago right after disc 1. I still have this game in storage, it's time to bust out the PS1 again and start the whole thing from the beginning.
Man, at first it makes you feel 'Oh shit, We're fucked' then the airship fleet arrives and the music sounds like something from a war. God, Nobuo is a genius when it comes to making music
As epic as this scene is(and it is very much so,) I wish they had got Garnet to use one of her Eidolons, just to further add to the awesomeness of the entire thing. At that point in the game she was no longer scared of them and did have the ability to use strong ones, and since Ramuh and Bahamut can fly, they would have been useful...I'm just being picky, but had this but done. Holy. Crap. I would have had to line my seat with plastic for when I wet myself.
I just played this recently and I admit I didn't expect much flying into the glowy ball over the Iifa tree--but the dragon attack changed that quick. Then the flying ships appeared "FRIEND OR FOE!?!?", dragons exploding--I was freakin' bowled over by that point. Then the Red Rose broadsides the breakaway dragons? Total. Braingasm.
This scene was so -epic- when I played this game and saw it the first time! When that white dragon exploded and the Lindblum air force suddenly came charging out of the clouds I was practically cheering! And then the Red Rose just came bursting from the clouds!! I was trembling and nearly crying from the epic awesomeness of this scene's thrill factor! <3 <3
