How stupid of me, I only now recalled that Diana is a goddess name in occultism, like Isis, Venus, etc., all of which comes back to Lucifer, which comes back to Sirius. The goddess is either the light of the (morning) star or reflects it as a being of the night, such as a moon. One of the key characteristics of such a goddess is regeneration/rebirth, especially through the transfer of purity via some ritual or sacrifice. The relationship between v Diana and Robin is interesting this way.

old it may be, Bu tthis show cost a million dollars an episode. THATS a hell of alot for 1983. Todays tochnology will just swarm us with computer graphics and it will lose some of its naturalness. they are re releasing it soon.

The child is only about 4 or 5. She has no idea that what is happening is not a day-to-day event. To her it's just another boring television program for adults. Notice how the oldest character played by Leonardo Cimino is the most suspicious as he's the most experienced with "peaceful" invasions...

Ya, I remember I was only in pre-school when 9-11 happened, and I kept getting bored seeing video clip after video clip of a plane hitting the world trade center. I now understand it was no boring program for adults, but a horrible and scary time for everyone.

Cimino (Abraham Bernstein) had that History to look back on and draw conclusions from. He'd told Ruby that he said back in 1938 it was different; but it obviously wasn't!

Was there something akward about her saying "I wanna get into his DNA"?? They way the guy reacted when she said it, like he was jealous, it made it seem sexual, didnt it? And then the kids asking about kids...while they're sitting next to the teenagers who were just about to get in on in the front yard a few scenes ago! That was a bunch of sexual references that happened in a couple of seconds! Cool!

i'm confused - i don't remember there being an "original" miniseries and then another weekly series. i have only very vague memories of this but i seem to recall something devious like Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers, and that there was some drug that made the aliens super dangerous. also i have visions of reptile eyes. am i thinking of something else?

Not totally. When this miniseries first aired back in early May 1983 it was entitled simply, "V". The original series was added for later viewing, especially after the early May 1984 airing of the followup miniseries, on NBC, "V: The Final Battle". There was no "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers" theme or drug involved (except to eventually defeat them in the later miniseries).

If you're serious about wanting "V" to return, google writer/director Kenneth Johnson's website & pre-order the novel for "V - The Second Generation" - if there is enough interest in the novel it will give the potential financial backers enough faith in the project to have it produced for television!!!
