JRTs aren't particularly tolerant of cats. Mine killed dozens of feral cats that came into our backyard... along with many ducks, a few geese, some muskrats, garter snakes and a swan. She was a tough little bitch, and I miss her terribly.
I don't care what anybody says, a cat cannot live a fulfilled and happy life indoors for the rest of their life, they need the stimulation of the outdoors and need to be in nature. Sure they may be exposed to the elements, but just like a child you can't protect them from everything and keep them in a bubble, it wouldn't be fair to the animal to have them miss out on such an essential experience.
jillgivler: you had EVERY right to shoot that dog, hell i would have shot it to,so you see how SIMILAR we are. you are a realist and feel killing an animal(IF JUSTIFIED) is o.k, and you wanted to make ME out to be some kind of monster when you had no probelm snuffing out that dog,tsk tsk
jillgivler: thank you, sure am a GREAT pet owner. i'm a registered Vet Tech for past 12 yrs. i make sure ALL neighbors dogs ARE vaccinated when they can't afford to take their dog to the Vet(i get my DHLPPC AT COST$3.95)and keep the local dogs up to date with the immunizations, provide Amoxi,Keflex to dog owners that can't afford antibiotics as well it's NOT my fault stray animals come onto my property by irresposable pet owners,he is on HIS property p.s.you have EVERY RIGHT TO HAVE SHOT THAT DOG
My all american short hair does the same "act" with my Cairn Terrier and they adore each other, thanks very much. Elsie, the dog, can hold her own against Cisco but respects the difference in the weight and size categories. They love to play hide and go seek too ! They bring so much joy to my life.
My experience is Jack Russells are the MEANEST dogs out there--like mini pit bulls. My dogs have been attacked multiple times by Jack Russells running loose in the neighborhood. Yours looks pretty nice, though.
senk8drol: nice to hear from a realist and honest person. yeah these cat"people"/owners are VERY irresonsible owners. they let their cats roam freely trespassing onto anyones property and putting them in danger,to dogs,or coyotes, etc then get all upset when their cat is killed, funny you don't see them getting all upset at the MILLIONS of song birds some endangered their little pussys kill, eye for an eye !
@use2slam2 Mine does the same only mine did not kill cats cuz she cant catch them and when i release mine the cats are already gone :) and i dont car how many dislikes i get cuz cats can be sweet but some of them not cuz the owners of them let them free for like 20 hours a day and kill all the beautifully birds that sing.
@use2slam2 leash training a cat takes a lot of time. Cats tend to freak out when they realize they're tethered, and start to 'death roll'. They could hurt themselves that way. My friend's cat naturally walks on a leash, but he's an exception... and also semi-retarded.
kimmois1: i think your yeast infection is affecting your brain. these owners let their cats roam onto other people's properties and subject them to getting ripped apart by my dog, coyotes or run over by cars and i'm the bad pet owner- just buy some Monostat7 it will clear up that infested cunt and will restore your intelligence, lmao, aaaaahahaha
@use2slam2 You're obviously a fucking awful dog owner who should be thrown in jail and not allowed to put his sadistic fucked up shit on innocent animals. May you rot in hell. Peace xxx
I hope your handsome Bengal stays safe out there. After a series of tragic events with my outdoor cats, I've realized how dangerous it is for them out there. If you lived in a very rural area with not a lot of cars, people, etc. that's ideal. But in an urban area, it really would be best to keep him indoors.
I'm not going to try and tell you how to look after your cat. Just, in my opinion, your cat can live a very happy and, even more importantly, a healthy life indoors.
ferntsi: good for him, you have a good dog. he is keeping HIS territory free from trespassers. if these bleeding heart cat lovers don't like it then keep your fuckin' cats on YOUR property !!!
Howyadoody: that's awesome!! i would have paid to see that. i haven't gone since the early 80's but back then in Osceola,FL i saw my share of pit on pit and pit on bobcat fights(until it was finally broken up by law enforcement)good old days. everybody gets upset but animals are going to fight animals and thats, that !! a local Rancher here in central Fl. had a beautiful cougar(he declawed it though)so it HAS to stay caged as it can't defend it self if attacked by a pack of dogs
@use2slam2 not awesome. im not into animal fighting and the incidences in question were an accident. my friend is in jail for tax fraud in case your wondering. He was into exotic pets, especially cats.
ElledieWildAndFree : i don't think it's alright for him to kill cats but you see my dog NEVER leaves our property,i can't help it if the cat owners in my vicinity don't keep THEIR cats on there's. now if were to be irresponsible and let my dog roam off the property and something happene d to him that would be MY fault and not say a person who hit him with a car or a larger dog causing him damage/killing him. hey at least he just kills them my Bully kills then disects them.
Ahh life with a Bengal! He just wanted to wrestle! Was that do scared?!? lol
When our Female Bengal was just a kitten and out for a walk, she met a full grown male Great Dane. After she got comfortable (15 min), she decided to start attacking the dog ... just testing the boundaries.
@johnnecron I kept mine inside for a year too but one day, the door was left open and escaped, he later came back. Now he comes and goes through a cat door as he pleases (no more litter box). I have a cat tree on the driveway where he spends most of the day. He goes on walks with my son for blocks with no leash. He was neutered as a kitten, I keep his dried food indoors, water in and outdoors. I hope this helps.
@estradalex This is more than fine as long as you have them vacinated against FIV (feline equivalent to HIV) , Felv (highly contagious feline lukemia), and keep up with their flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.

@estradalex we got americam impot bengal he is the Guv and owns the british male we have also he runs the hood we live in. we have 3 bengals but the American ones have different build.
@Harbertom It depends on what traits the breeder favors. Many like the sleek thin and long bodied Bengals with longer thin tails that look more wild, and others prefer the fuller faced, slightly heavier and shorter bodied Bengals with thick medium length tails. The markings are always similar (spotted or marbled) while many like rosettes or arrowed spots over the rounder spots or the marbled pattern. High glitter is always prefered whether or not you like Sable or silver colored.
@bookkeeper57 Bengal cats are fairly fearless. They get into everything and rarely back off when challenged. They are territorial and the closer they are generation wise to their wild sires (Asian Leopard Cats) the more this is pronounced. The dog backing off as the cat advances edges him on more to defend (even playfully) "His" area. I have 3 Bengals (2 male one female) and none of them even think about running from a dog or a good fight. lol
@celticnightharp Agree with you. Heard from a guy here who owns three dogs and five Bengal cats. The dogs are German shepherds. The cats are a family group. He said the matriarch of the whole group is the senior female Bengal. She takes nothing from no one, even the dogs defer to her.
my JRT acts just like that...if you present her with a new dog or cat, she'll stand extremely still and let the animal sniff her, and she'll be wagging her tail, but as soon as it makes a quick movement she takes off. she loves playing with my sister's cat though, and he's bigger than she is (with her being fully grown at 12.3 lbs, and him probably weighing closer to...18lbs-not fat, just huge).
@taadaaaaa Terriers in general think they are bigger than they are and end up in fights with larger dogs, The Bengal is a dominant cat also, in my case the cat always wins, but mostly the play together a lot, the Terrier is always looking for fun and when the cat gets tired he will just go away right after the dog gets a strong "hug" with claws and teeth.
