  • Pretty neat - I am actually suprised the newer V6 has a little bit more of a V8ish rumble to it. Still I am going to get the V8 no matter what happens :)

  • 6 speed auto (19 city 30 highway), 18 city 29 highway manual option, electric steering (more horse power), lower drag co.

  • The 2011 Ford Mustang's new 305-hp 3.7-liter V-6 kind of makes me want a new stang. It may not have the V-8 burble but it should make up for it with better fuel economy

  • It really is not worth it, IMO, to wait for the 2011 V6. If I were you, I would get a 2010 V8 if you can afford it, or a 2010 V6 with Pony Package. Add some bolt on mods to the intake, exhaust, chassis and differential, and you'll smoke any of those Lincoln-like "beef sliders". It doesn't even sound right. Mustang needs a big engine. Damn CAFE standards.

  • Dude the 4.0 is a weak, old, tired, motor. Get over it already! Plus the 4.0 never sounded right to begin with.

Of course you would understand the flawed design of the jackshaft in the middle of the motor. Of course you would understand the flawed design of the oil pump assambly as well! How could I be so dumb? You have a ton more understanging of this motor than I do!

  • Haha you don't even need to go into that detail. It barely makes 200hp at 4 liters! The BMW M3 V8 is 4 liters and makes 410 horsepower! The Porsche GT3 6 cyl is 3.8L and makes 430hp! And they pretty much get the same fuel economy. THAT OLD V6 IS A JOKE!

  • Ok you want powerful and cheap? How about a Civic Si? 197hp 2 liter, or Mazdaspeed3 268hp 2.3 liter. And those are FOUR cyl engines. Its just a fact that the Mustang V6 is a POS. ANY modern V6 is better. Dunno why they're not using the Ecoboost engine.

  • the civic is a pice of shit, the last civic was better, and none of dose cars are RWD they all have direct injected engine. the mustang is going to cost in the 20's, it is RWD has a 3.7 port injected 305hp 280pft 7k rev v6. also has limited slip differential

  • Yeah one of the best selling longest lasting cars in history is totally a piece of shit. Oh I should learn more about engines huh? The Civic Si DOES NOT have a direct injection engine. But it does have a 8k redline which is killer. You do know DI is better than PI, right? Both those cars have an LSD, both cost in the 20's. What the hell is your point? Don't go accusing me of being an idiot before you get your facts straight.

    the civic isn't RWD nor is it anything, this cars don't even compete, spare me the longest lasting and selling crap. the mustang has that covered, 45 years of history. it still hold the record for best selling car in the world

  • anyway back to the argument, you cant just judge a car by its engine. what the civics fuel economy with its whopping 197 horsepower at 7800 rpm and 139 lb-ft of torque at 6100 rpm....lol i4 FWD has no torque. 21/29hw lol and it only has 2L, should it do better that the 3.7L v6 300hp 280pft RWD 19/30hw. i guess i am done here

  • Would you pay attention before you go jumping down my throat? I'm talking about the old V6, not the new. That was my original statement! I actually like Ford, but I can criticize what and how I please. I had a 2005 Mustang V6 as a rental and it handled like a brick, had no guts, and the worst fuel economy I've ever experienced in a car.

  • Have I said anything against the new Mustang? No. It's about the old one. Chill out fool. Will it make you happy if I say the 4.7L V8 is the tits?

  • The Mazdaspeed 3 is also 15 grand more than the V6 Mustang. the V6 is meant to be the stock motor and the new 5L V8 is the power house for 2011. Four cylinder engines and FWD, you get anal exhaust notes and understeer. The new V6 is only missing forced induction which is the whole point of Mustang. Mustang was always meant to be customized to the buyers liking. if you can find a car with that much power and RWD for under 25 000 tell me.

  • 15 grand more? What are you smoking? The Mazdaspeed 3 starts at $23,945. Anal exhaust? I'm not talking a Kia with a cherry bomb here. And the Mazdaspeed does not understeer. It repeatedly out performs more expensive and more powerful cars. I don't care if it's the most horsepower for the least money. It's a stupid argument. Power is meaningless when it's inhibited by a pig of a car.

  • Mustang is hardly a pig of a car. It weighs far less than anything the other big two have thrown at it. And with a few chassis and suspension mods, it can CREAM any Mazda including an RX-7 (wherefore art thou?) or highly modded RX-8. And this is from a former Mazda owner who drives a Mustang now with stage 2 Steeda suspension going in.

  • the number one problem with the first mazdaspeed 3 was torque steer so your little "power is meaningless" rant was a bit ignorant

  • Torque steer is present but managable. It's a feat that they can make such an able car with that much power to the front wheels. And do tell me, if all that power is wasted why is it consistently voted one of the best cars currently available? Can't say I've heard such things about a Mustang V6. The GT with track package is apparently pretty good though.

  • well its not a bad car by any means and i never said it was wasted just merely pointing out the mazda isnt without its own set of flaws

  • If you don't want the 2011 V6 just get the 2011 V8. It's not going away, it's getting upgraded too to a 5.0L engine.
