Two things-thanks very much for these incredible postings Dave. Without you it's unlikely theese tracks would have ever been heard apart from the very odd bootleg collecter. Secondly, thanks to the inventors of YouTube, without it there would have never really been a medium to make available this sort of prized material. Regards-Peter
Dave Fuller the Fifth and a half Queen member, thank you for keeping Youtube full of amazing Queen artifacts...you ate soooo appreciated (oh and BTW i think RTB would be the fifth Queen member..lol)
Hi i am Queen fan all my life. My name is Haris i am 28 and i just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU DaveRFuller for all the these AMAZING you brought to youtube!!Thanks again:) QUEEN FOREVER AND EVER
I thought it was just pure imagination from Freddie Mercury, Imagining life in the Holy Land at the time of Jesus. Possibly showing disbelief by ''going down'' to see him. Open to interpretation of course: early Queen!
It comes just after Son and daughter that is about Antichrist...and this is about Jesus!
They were a deeply religious band and Queen I is one of their most religious album. ( grat king rat = the devil; my fairy king = God; Liar= Father I have sinned; son and daughter= the deceiving Antichrist who is man and and woman at the same time, Jesus= the saviour and leader of men; Seven seas instrumental = a joyful tune of hope and triumph of the good over the evil.).
i love the guitar and drums and bass, vocals, and song...what an awesome band. It's a shame the early years don't get the attention they deserve. I think Freddie may have sold his soul to the devil though.
I agree with you completely. Queen 1 is one of my favs by them. That, Queen 2, Jazz, the Game, and A Kind of Magic. The first weren't big sellers in the U.S. Jazz isn't remembered cause no big hits came off that CD(excellent use of Don't Stop Me Now in Shaun of the Dead. Most reviews I've read slam The Game cause of its poppiness. A Kind of Magic was ignored in the U.S. BTW, this song is the reason I bought the CD
Jazz is not their best as an album. Every song in that album is an excellent song. It´s Roy Baker with Queen. But, it just doesnt work for me as an album. I personally think it´s one of their works to get to know them. We got two Deacon compositions diffrent from each other. "In Only 7 Days" is pure 70-Deaky Style. Bri also goes to his excellent pure rock tracks and balladas. Freddie show us complex tracks, simple tracks and diffrent tracks. And, Rog just show us his dance and rock side.
As I said, I love all the songs from Jazz. But, they just don´t seem to work as an album.
A very mysterious album, for me. In my opinion, I think they should have made the whole 80´s era, without any use of Synths. They could have been much more diffrent that the other bands.( I know that they still were)
and listening to his other compositions and this particular interview where he pointed up and said "he's watching over me" makes me think he is but idk!!!!
I don't personally know this either, but It's a strong possibility...someone that lived in his Kensington estate with him recall hearing him whisper a lot in bed when he was fighting AIDS, and he responded something to the effect of: "I'm saying my prayers." People I'm sure have taken that differently...but I think he died a Christian.
"Mother Love makes me wonder too. I know the religion he grew up with, and the rites he followed for his own funeral, but did you see that on Zanzibar a memorial birthday celebration was "blocked" by the Islamists because Freddy lived a gay lifestyle. Sad.
Freddie was raised in the Zoroastrian religion. But apparently he never showed a great deal of seriousness towards the faith. Why he wrote this beautiful song about Jesus? He has never explained. It remains a mystery!
everyone knows tht most songs r only good, wen they av god/jesus in the lyrics, diaster and ppl with diseases. instead of the shit u get 2day, where most of it 2day dont even mean anything
Freddie wrote these song about Jesus, because, when Queen's band and him eatin' (that's I read) look at the Church and see how the people come and began inside from the Church. Freddie wrote all these happen. Then, so few people go to Queen and here wrote all these song in acompany with the people.
I hope do you understand my explication. I'm mexican and talk spanish. But I know a little english. Was hard wrote all.. hahaha.
The fuck is a "gay lifestyle" anyway?

In the '80s, they did sound different. No band would dare experiment so heavily with dance music
JIF882 3 years ago 3
I still prefer that they never included those dam synths into their music. It could have been their trademark. The band that never used synths.
