I thought it was just pure imagination from Freddie Mercury, Imagining life in the Holy Land at the time of Jesus. Possibly showing disbelief by ''going down'' to see him. Open to interpretation of course: early Queen!

They were a deeply religious band and Queen I is one of their most religious album. ( grat king rat = the devil; my fairy king = God; Liar= Father I have sinned; son and daughter= the deceiving Antichrist who is man and and woman at the same time, Jesus= the saviour and leader of men; Seven seas instrumental = a joyful tune of hope and triumph of the good over the evil.).

I agree with you completely. Queen 1 is one of my favs by them. That, Queen 2, Jazz, the Game, and A Kind of Magic. The first weren't big sellers in the U.S. Jazz isn't remembered cause no big hits came off that CD(excellent use of Don't Stop Me Now in Shaun of the Dead. Most reviews I've read slam The Game cause of its poppiness. A Kind of Magic was ignored in the U.S. BTW, this song is the reason I bought the CD

Jazz is not their best as an album. Every song in that album is an excellent song. It´s Roy Baker with Queen. But, it just doesnt work for me as an album. I personally think it´s one of their works to get to know them. We got two Deacon compositions diffrent from each other. "In Only 7 Days" is pure 70-Deaky Style. Bri also goes to his excellent pure rock tracks and balladas. Freddie show us complex tracks, simple tracks and diffrent tracks. And, Rog just show us his dance and rock side.

As I said, I love all the songs from Jazz. But, they just don´t seem to work as an album.

A very mysterious album, for me. In my opinion, I think they should have made the whole 80´s era, without any use of Synths. They could have been much more diffrent that the other bands.( I know that they still were)

I don't personally know this either, but It's a strong possibility...someone that lived in his Kensington estate with him recall hearing him whisper a lot in bed when he was fighting AIDS, and he responded something to the effect of: "I'm saying my prayers." People I'm sure have taken that differently...but I think he died a Christian.

Freddie was raised in the Zoroastrian religion. But apparently he never showed a great deal of seriousness towards the faith. Why he wrote this beautiful song about Jesus? He has never explained. It remains a mystery!

Freddie wrote these song about Jesus, because, when Queen's band and him eatin' (that's I read) look at the Church and see how the people come and began inside from the Church. Freddie wrote all these happen. Then, so few people go to Queen and here wrote all these song in acompany with the people.
