damn christians!!! calling the fiddle a device to send you straight to torment, the devils box. wtf???? how anyone can take this religion seriously idk. sry for the negativity. love the music.
My old friend J.P. Fraley used to win all the contests with this tune back in the '70's. I was just at Clifftop last month and figured if it was good enough for J.P. it should be good enough for me. I played it and won 2d place in senior fiddle! Then just 3 hrs later I played it again for J.P. who is still alive but not playing anymore. His friends brought him to Clifftop just to listen and hang out with his old buddies. One of the greatest moments of my life! ....... Henry the Fiddler
J.P. Fraley's fiddling sytle is just like the immortal John Hartford used to say - not too fast, not too slow; just the right pace. As shown here in this wonderful song. Fantastic stuff; a Beautiful Tune; I have this one on a Rounder Records compilation DVD. It really stands out !! Go, J.P. !!

Brilliant. ***** I bought the "Wild Rose of the Mountain "album about thirty years ago, but I left it in Glasgow. Hope it is in good hands.
