I've worked for lots of companies that don't have every tool necessary. You make due with what you got, and you get the job done well. I don't know why so many of you are talking shit. It's a nice looking house.
what the hell is ghetto about a crane helping this seems safer than than most the methods ive used and seen? most framers i know would die to have that sort of help i lift walls bigger than this with wall jacks that are rusted to shit and make terrible noises like they are about to fail with every pump and i dont even consider that ghetto we used to use 2x4s nailed hight and push! and hope nothing comes back. P.S whoever thought the floor was finished is not in the business.
I can see the boom from the crane in the background. Also can hear the hydraulic pumps working with every movement of the wall. They should have men with tag lines guidong it up on the ends though to be safe. Also I could just make out the jib off the boom of crane in one of the shots.Wasn't a very high tonnage crane.Don't nee more than a 15 of 20 ton for a residential job.Might be a remote unit instead of a cab unit. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Butch
more like limited workers. oh and why does the floor look finished but there's no walls? also how are you going to nail the piece holding up the wall onto the finished floor?
Yeah i see a picker truck in the back doing all the work with straps and you can hear the hydrolics working pulling up the wall , the guys are just guilding the wall no hard labour here .
Looks like a pretty good job of framing from what i seen other then needing more blocking in walls over 9 feet .
ya know you should nail some cleats to the deck in a ladder formation with a angle cut at the bottom of the kicker so it acts kinda like a ratchet when your standing up a wall that tall...and it's not a bad idea to use some banding from your last lumber drop to strap down the bottom plate so that wall doesn't go top heavy and come back down on yas...although it looks like that may have been done.
get on the brace you fool....but you guys were using a machine i could hear it in the back ground....you 3 could never raise that 2x6 balloon framed wall by yourselves NEVER!!!!
Obviously those guys don't do that for a living, what a great way to get hurt. Next time rent a crane to lift you high wall, save you time, and most important your back.

why doest the guy who gets the ladder just grab the prop and push? higher point of lift should make it easier, just a bit of common sense maybe?

In the first few seconds you can see that there is a rope attached to the panel, so its being winched upright.
Not sure what the three men are doing, except for standing in the danger zone if the rope breaks.
They need another rope on this side attached to something solid to stop the wall from being pulled past the vertical and falling out of the building.
Otherwise, its all fine except for the shortage of safety gear, and understanding.
Always use winches for this sort of thing.
