  • congrats on gettin your music back!

  • I dont understand why they'd not let you use the song your doing in a non commercial way. If you are making money from it its understandable from them but thats Madonna for you a tight bitch

  • It's neat anyway............... thanks I like it

  • Very nice video! But it is a sped up video, not time lapse photography. It sucks that they dropped your chosen tune! That's why I'm afraid to upload some of my videos. I enjoyed it anyways! Mabe do some with road noise...! Surely they can't claim copyright infringment with that!

I'm in Ottawa a lot! Hope to see more of your videos! Have fun!!

  • kanata hill has completely changed

  • heheh its funny watching this in time-lapse...you dont actually realise how much cars move all around the lane, it just looks like they are completely straight most of the time.

  • wow thats gay someone bitched about the song nows its removed

  • Damn . . I had fave'd this and hadn't watched in a while . . just came back to watch it again and the track is gone . . . not the same without Ray Of Light in the background :-(

  • totally agree....i have a video playlist i made in 07-07 and all the videos have been removed due to copyright issues

  • WMG can go fuck themselves.

  • Wow, if I only I could drive from Kanata to Orleans all within 3 minutes...

  • Very cool time lapse man... check mine out, it goes from munster to vanier. BTW how fast has this been sped up x8?

  • So many memories...

  • Back in the days when there wasn't construction everywhere.....Wish it was like that now, but it'll be nice when it's done!

  • very true...only construction here was terry fox over pass

  • oh for sure...the headache right now will be our benefit soon...kanata hill...preston street...king edward...bank street...repaved west/ east bound lanes at st laurant - nicholas and maitland...along with more too

  • What a great video over a very familiar stretch of the Queensway (417). Didn't see anyone slow down much thinking your camera on the dashboard was a radar though. You picked a great time of day to do this!

  • dude awesome video! LOVED the song, it fit the vid perfectly.

I felt relaxed watching this video...because the song and the video was a perfect combo!

  • no tan mal, pero siguiendo a alguien mas!

    Chevere maricas culecos@

  • It looked like you stopped at Trim road. I live off Trim. Neat video.

  • Is this the Queensway (417)? It´s the only road in Ottawa I remember where you can drive fast. Well, sort of...

  • Nice vid!

Makes me miss the city now.;)

  • at the end I really thought you were going to hit the car in front of you.

  • You forgot about the snow idiot

  • hey.. cool vid. This is basically my drive to work. up until the Nicholas offramp at roughly 1:52 actually it's half my drive.. the second half. this is pretty slick though. didn't realize the 417 was so windy and curvy from the Island park area up to downtown.

I like how the song really kicks in on the curves through Bayshore area.. funny. Madonna sucks.. but it suits the video well.

  • It's quite curvy and narrow through downtown with a lot of sudden exits, and the sight distance is quite low for a freeway. IMO, the speed limit should be a bit lower - like 90 km/h (about 55 mph).

  • What Song?

  • Song in video: Madonna - Ray Of Light

  • My bad, 2:32

  • no i think thats just a vehicle in front of that car because if you look closely you can see the same image in the right side just before

  • Your right, it is

  • At 2:30 the car in front of this guy opens the doors, before that they open the door on the passengers sides. Must of been a door ajar light on their dashboard.

  • I really bloody hate that Madonna music. Not that this tune in particular is all that bad, but she's such a rip off. Copy cat girl that thinks she's cool and hot, while in fact she's not. She's a disgusting vile b& really.

  • very cool....what was your time interval for taking the pics??

  • I think you'd just place a camcorder on your dashboard, pull in the video onto a computer afterward, and just play it back fast.

  • No this wasn't a video, it was a time lapse...which is a series of photos put together as 'frames', which make it look like a sped up video.

In this one it looks like he took a picture every few seconds but I was just curious to know what the interval was exactly.

I have one in my profile of what you're describing as a 'sped up video' - theres a difference between that and a time lapse though.

  • You can see the cars switching lanes perfectly so I think he was taking a video and sped it up. He just used the wrong choice of words in the title.

  • Hi.

The video was taken using a regular camcorder. It was then sped up to ten times the original speed. Since the original video is 30 frames per second, I believe this would be equivalent to capturing 3 fps, and playing it back at 30 fps.

  • I live off Palladium Dr. and I am pretty sure thats my brown cavalier just after the Palladium Dr. over pass. What a coincidence.

  • You and eluko79 should team up and make more of these. Both your vids are great!

  • OMG. This is so good. Best song with it too! You should get an award for this. 5/5!

  • Can't tell you how many times I've made that drive... Great vid :-)

  • from kanata to orleans lol funny to see it on here when i drive this highway everyday

  • Haha awesome video! Funny actually watching it... even tho i drive down it every day. Well done =)

  • ottawa...my dream place..ill be there soon:-)

  • Great video! I was wondering why you put the camera on such a wierd angle? kind of throws off your sight, your not "driving" your kind of looking sideways, kind of throws you off. Otherwise pretty good.

  • lol you seem follow that red car for all day and never pass that car, lol and 5/5 P.S. i will add to my favorite ;)

  • Yeah. I picked a set speed of 120 km/h, and aparently so did he.

  • Hello, I am a Spanish that have never been out of Spain, but I am a fan of Canada, and I really love Ottawa. Thhis video is one of my favourites of course!

I really like the peaceful but so quick trip along the highway and the song is perfect for this video! Really good work, mate! Congratulations for this vid.

    Thanks and bye

    -Cristian

  • Thank you.

  • thx for your response :-)

  • Hmm... I don't know if you noticed, but I saw that there's this red car that's infront of you the whole video (well he appears at 0:56). It looks like you're still in Kanata at the time... and you two follow the highway all the way to Orleans/Cumberland. Maybe he had the same idea as you that day :P

Anyway, besides that... great video :)

  • What time interval did you use for this time lapse?

  • I think it is 10x normal speed.

  • What car are you driving?? Need to satisfy my imagination...

Nice drive, traffic was nice, eh

  • I am driving a 2001 Chrysler Neon. I think it was about 8PM at the time, so traffic was not bad. You can see the sun setting during the video.

  • Nice concept. glad i invented it. check my video reply. also you can find it on google from when i originally posted it.

  • How did you get the video to be so stable?...tripod?...stabilizer?...also can I ask the speed you were going at. I have tried this before, but never got a video that stable.

  • I used the handyman's secret weapon: duct tape!

The camera is duct taped to the dashboard of the car. A lot of duct tape. The camera is a bit sticky afterwards. I can't use my own car because it shows too much of the hood, which is strange because the car I used has a huge hood.

I was driving about 120 km/h (70 mph). The traffic was unusually slow that day so it makes me seem really fast. The video is sped up to 10x normal speed.

  • lmao "handyman's secret weapon: duct tape!" lmao nice red green quote man...I'ma make one of ottawa too...but its gonna be going through the queens way and through the canel drive...just so show some awesome sceans of ottawa lol but that won't be for a while...nice time lapse though

  • Don't know 'jack' about the Ottawa area, but I enjoyed this video. Living in Toronto, I actually found this visual video, refreshing!! Where was this filmed? What route was it? 416? 417? I don't know the NCR - it'd be nice for someone to give us 'outsiders' a geographical reminder. Liked the video, but I turned the music off. Check out Philippine road vids/Manila road videos - wicked with absolute kickass music! They dig rock/punk/metal & everything else...

  • 417 east from Carp Rd. to the split, 174 through Orleans to Trim, I think.

  • ottawa owns.... that is all

  • Dope video.. I like how you dealyed the time lapse.. man you were flying though.. or so it seems!! I saw all them cars move out of the fast lane for you. Makes me want to take a road trip to Ottawa and time lapse it!!

  • Next do one in a snow storm.

  • This video reminds me of the Eagles' song "Life In The Fast Lane." The music you selected, however, works really well. Comme on dit à Ottawa, "Felicitations!"

  • Great video. I travel much of that route almost every day. If only the commute was that fast!!! ;o)

  • Awesome! Just moved to Ottawa (living in Orleans actually) and I'm loving it.

YOu should put a little inset of a map and where you are on it..that'd be cool.

  • That was cool and looked like even in regular speed youd be going faster than the other cars. very sweet.

  • whas da name of da song

  • "Ray of Light" by Madonna.

  • I used to live in Ottawa 8 years ago but I now live in New Zealand. Your video went past my old school and apartment building. Almost makes me want to come back and visit (almost ;)...thanks for the memories!!!

  • time lapse rules . . . . so does Ottawa!!!!! Nice vid. How do you make time lapse vids?

  • I love love love this! Inspires me to make my own in Ottawa...

  • Nice video! I was in Ottawa last week and I can't believe that I like your highways and transit systems there.

I wish that you should do a video of a time-lapsed drive, but this time through the Quebec side of Ottawa (aka Gatineau). Perhaps you should some music along with that. Angels and Airwaves' "The Adventure" or "The War" is best suited (unless you have a reason why you don't like it). Anyway, nice video!

  • I would like to do Gatineau, and lots of other time lapse clips to do a montage. Ottawa may seem boring, but it wouldn't be at 1000% speed! I'm just too lazy, as time lapse obviously takes time.

I'd also like to do drives around Montréal and Toronto.

As for the transit, Ottawa only has a bus system, but it is quite impressive because the buses drive on dedicated bus roads throughout the city.

May I ask where you are from?

  • awesome :)
