Do most pro DJs leave the EQ on the mixer flat?? Just noticed that in the video. All the 1st DJ seemed to do was beatmatch and then take out the bass...
Depends on the tune. Those tunes easily don't clash and complement each other. So just dealing with the bass to show which track is which can make a much more dramatic effect than messing with the mids and highs when you can just use the up faders for that.

Habit... I wasn't actually doing anything to the levels. I have got wondering hands i suppose :) The soundsystem was superb on the day!

It doesnt matter what most djs do, you adjust the eq according to the tracks youre mixing as to create the best and smoothest mix.
