i see so much pride every day, but God hates pride so much, but why are we proud? we are all sinners, we need to acknowledge this to get anywhere, this song captures our frailty and need for repentance so well.

@Kerryberry2007, where in the Bible does it teach that God hates only the sin, but not the sinner. ... "The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity." (Psalm 5:5 )- "God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day." (Psalm 7:11)

As Christians how many times do we use "Christianese" statements, instead of finding doctrine that is substantiated in Scripture.

@atoam It's not a quote from the bible but it is true if the context is correct. God judges the heart and while he hates sin and the one who is willfully commiting it He also loves the person and longs for their release.

As Christians, how many times do we emphasis specific doctrinal points over the heart of Christ?

This song is my favoite Keith Green song, with "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt" running a very close second :-) But this song always gave me chills because of the strong anointing on him and the whole arrangement. I can't help but worship and cry everytime I hear it. Another great Christian music artist recorded it on a tribute album years after Keith's death. It had the same words and everything. But just didn't move me the way this original has always done.

I didn't realize music like this was out there until working as a photographer in 1986. I understand this gentleman is from the early days so hopefully some of the followers will also remember the song "Hormony" by The Cruse Family and possibly post it. Sad to say the guy who turned me on to this music was in a CCM Band and they worked spelling a rock band at a club. The guy explained many couldn't tell the difference and danced to it. bilbo2shire

i was just 17 upon hearing the sad news on a hot summer day, that Keith Green, beloved Christian musician, died in a tragic plane crash...i had been listening to Mr Greens music for some time...and loved the way he showed his love for Jesus through his music. In his short life, he showed Jesus to the hurt and lost...and i will always remember his life being that...a life tragically cut too short. I'm sure that he is singing praise and worship songs to Jesus this very minute!

@sport142 I try so hard to get young Christians into Keith's music. They usually can't past the now "old sound", and they instantly reject it. It's so heartbreaking that they have absolutely no idea what they are rejecting. God was so evident in Keith's music and voice. ..and I don't know of any modern artists who carry that strong of conviction in their music. Keith was surely one of a kind.

I saw Keith in Santa Cruz in a little church. It was incredible! He WAS a servant of God, no doubt about it. Read "No Compromise", the book his wife wrote. Good stuff!

I'm too young to have remembered Keith Green in person, but I've been to one of Jason Upton's meetings and he certainly did have the same vibe. These guys are musicians, but you have the feeling that they're more prophetic voices than performers.

I attended a Keith Green concert in the fall of 1980 in Baton Rouge. Keith was alone on the stage except for the big black grand and his big black Bible. The power of the Holy Spirit was abundantly evident throughout! Amazing Worship! Amazing Message! Amazing Grace! Amazing Servant.

@purplestar9902 I once heard some preacher say that God loves everyone and we should too. The Bible says God HATES the wicked. If you love your own you also have to hate the opposite. I will be teaching a series of messages titled "7 Things God Hates." I expect to sell none of those CDs. I will speak about some things the body of Christ doesn't want to hear.God bless you as you contemplate this.
