  • Sweeps recovered! I didnt think she would. Don`t always believe what your Vet`s say`s. Don`t put your animal down, unless you really believe there`s no hope, cos me and Sweep proved them wrong. They really don`t care like you do about your pet, its just money to them, they do it everyday. I am so sorry for your loss, and I think you have done right, but to all others that watch this, there is hope, Vestibular is something a symptom, not an illness, its very scary to see, find the cause and cure.

  • @MrWoodstarr Great news about Sweeps!

  • Following on from my last post. What have I done, it seems to have worked. I have feed her a muliti vitamin compound in her wet food, she has at least three pouches a day. High quality dry food, treats, and loads of love. Does seem to fix it, so far....

  • Hi, my 12.5 year old cat is on day 3 of peripheral vestibular disease. She behaves in a similar way to your cat, but I was hoping for more improvement now. The vet gave some antibiotics in case it's ear infection. She is now hiding from me because I gave her the medicine. How long did it take for your cat to imporove to near normal e.g. to be more secure in her movements? The neurologist vet said I should see improvement in a week or two, if she doesn't improve do an MRI, but I'm worried.

  • @jewelmarkess

The video you see is the 2nd day, where she had started to make dramatic improvements. The improvements in the following two weeks were slower, but things did get better. Some days were better than others. The main symptoms lasted about 3 to 4 weeks, but not nearly to the extreme we saw in the first few days. There was never a morning where we just woke up and she was fine. We do continue to notice a little dizziness, but she is very happy and healthy. Hopefully this helps!

  • @mfdoc12 Thank you for the reply. it does help. My cat is on her 6th day now. I think the eyes look normal now and I barely see the head tilt, but she is still insecure in walking, started walking ok, and then fell over, is afraid to jump. What bothers me is that she prefers to spend most of the day lying in the closet. Got out in the morning to eat and use the bathroom, and then - back to the closet in the bedroom. If I bring her food, she gets out, eats and - back to the closet she goes.

  • Callie is 20 years old now and she's doing very well. The vestibular disorder is hardly recognizable anymore. She is much more spoiled now though!

  • We have a cat that looks very simular called molly shes currently 21, I'm glad your cat has had such a long life!

  • Poor thing. I'm glad she has a loving owner like you to look after and care for her.

  • My kitty will be 17 next month. She was just diagnosed with lymphoma and was having problems with dehydration a few days ago. She was wobbly like this and the vet said it was due to the dehydration. She has been getting fluids at home now for 4 days and so is no longer dehydrated and has been eating well, but her wobbling is getting worse. I am thinking maybe she has an ear infection or something like this. Thanks for the video, this looks just like what Fluffy does. How is sweet Callie doing?
