damm that was fast 4 a lightly modded i hav a 2000 gp gt with short ram air intake and when u reach 110 ill be at around 100-105 anyway it also does a 0-60 in 7 now and 1/4 at 15.4@90mph so if we raced it'd be verry close
@SuperKazra thanks man, but your GT isnt quite as close as you think... 15.4 @ 90 is a good ways behind the 13.289 @ 104.89 my car ran with these mods.
@jafourman for a gt with no mods basically that's a very respectable run! My stock GTP with just an intake (ran it right when I got it so I could do a comparison) only ran a 15.1 threw 15.4 and it was a hot 109* summer day in PHX. If you've heard of cars coming from the factory faster then whats advertised mine was the opposite lol . The stock 97-03s are rated at like 14.8-15.1 factory in 1/4 depending on what magazine you read. Before my 00'GTP i owned a 04 GP GT w.lots of boltons was a 15.75!
@knaxon oh i am not trying to take anything away from him, just saying that it would not be quite as close as he thought it would be in his post. i am glad i do not have to run in crazy high DA when i go to the track. i think the days i went to the track to make good runs in this car had very low DA... like in the 500s or so.
@jafourman Mine has a few issues now but I'm to lazy and unmotivated to fix but all the essentials work for daily driving. It has a clogged cat and a unfix able exhaust leak due to poor design of the retarded pace setter headers I do not recommend them to anyone. biggest nightmare ever. But even with my problems before the cat got really clogged my best 0-60 was a 5.85 and avg was 6.1 and a 1/4 of 14.2 with bad kr of like 8* on my aeroforce gauge. On the actual track my best run ever was 14.75
I have a 2004 Supercharged Monte. I'm looking at doing some mods to it. I am thinking a 3.4" pulley, headers, a 180* stat, and a 3 inch down pipe. Do you think that is enough supporting mods for this size pulley?
My cammed (non-supercharged) Bonneville accelerates kind of like that, though where you get KR, I get a misfire. Unfortunately, I'm far from Mexico and don't have any place to regularly wind it out like you did.
lol and it's obvious you've never built anything or made any power on anything. I just realized you drive one of these overweight tanks of a 13-14 second family sedans
@lVlemphiz the engine in my GTO was built by my dad and myself. you trolled my dyno vid... if you would have watched instead of running your cock holster, you would see that it made over 525 at the wheels. thats a good 75 at the wheels more than what you claimed earlier so if i dont know anything about building engines or making power... you know even less.
@lVlemphiz ...better than ANYTHING while driving a NEON. seriously... you come and try to bash my cars when you drive a NEON? really? even if it were as fast as you say (and taking 11 seconds to get from 40-120 is NOT fast)... its still a NEON.
@lVlemphiz 13-14 seconds is pretty quick. Especially in a car that you can buy for $8,000 and put $1,500 dollars in to to have it running 13-14 seconds. If you spend like $3,000 you can have a 12 second family sedan.
@codymiller1994exactly.and they are very luxurious.comfortable.safe (especially for a family),4drs is great for use as what it was intended for aka family sedan and grocery geter! Its also an amazingly reliable car, when you start to modify it heavily to bring it below the threshold of about 13.9 seconds it can start to affect that depending on whats done and who does the work.I modified mine as a 3.4 MPS w/SUPMOD and I just use as a daily driver. My heater works the best out of any car ive owned
@knaxon What are your supporting mods with the 3.4" pulley? I want to drop my Supercharged Monte Carlo to a 3.4" pulley. I'm thinking of doing a 180* stat, headers (with 3" downpipe), and an overkill PCM. I can only get 91 octane gas where I live though. So would this be enough or should I not drop below a 3.5" if that is all that I'm doing?
lol most piston sets COME with rings...but OEM rings can be used on grand vitara pistons as well as ACL bearings on eagle rods. Those parts together won't run you 100 bucks...all that oil and coolant that motor uses must really tip the scale for the budget on that build huh?
@lVlemphiz first, wow that sounds like a fucking hackjob way to do anything. second, i thought this was supposed to be proof of a 'simple honda?' tearing down and rebuilding an engine is not 'simple.' it is a major modification. third, you dont get gains from internals, sooo... gonna need more parts/money if you plan to make any more power than stock. your '$500 simple honda' example is neither simple, nor going to outrun even my DD.
@lVlemphiz sooo... not getting parts balanced? reusing stock bearings? gaskets? what about fluids? tune? i have built engines, i am well aware of how little things add up. bottom line, you will NOT be 'building' an engine with just those pistons and rods. if you buy just these and nothing else, you will have a half-assed attempt at a built engine. idk what you are so butthurt about... i never claimed my bolt-on DD is faster than every honda ever made. where are your time slips?
@OLO420 hi hater. what makes you think my vid is downhill? because its faster than your honda? this is on level ground... troll attempt failed, thanks for playing.
@OLO420 Naw man, he did it with the front tires in the air, that's why the e-brake light is on. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
@lVlemphiz no one ever said it was, genious. Also, I figure I would chime in on your "built" motor for $500. That sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me being that the rods alone are going to cost you 300.
@lVlemphiz ok, so how much for bearings? how much for piston rings? how much for fluids and gaskets? etc.... you aren't building shit for under 500.
btw, the L32 and L26 motors (series3 3800) come with forged rods from the factory and have been pushed to 900whp. I've got my "built' block and bottom end for $400 with 700 miles on it.
@lVlemphiz with $1000 (new prices, no used junk) in mods, this is a 13-flat (13.001 and 13.005) car with track prep... on all-season tires. what exactly is a "simple" honda? engine swap? turbo? nitrous? gutted? how many "simple" hondas with $1000 in total mods will "park" my daily driver? how many of them will run, like mine, 40,000 miles (and counting) on such a setup? this is a daily driver we are talking about here. this is my daily, and it will work 95% of cars i come across daily.
@jafourman This car wouldn't work shit wtf are you talking about...A simple d series on boost could walk this car (you can build those motors for 500 bucks with grand vitara pistons and eagle rods)
@lVlemphiz lol... removed your other comment i see? did you realize how stupid it is to compare an aftermarket-boosted, engine swapped car to a midsize sedan with bolt ons? how exactly do you plan to do a "simple d series on boost with grand vitara pistons and eagle rods for $500?" no way in hell you could "build" anything for $500 unless you are starting with used parts and reuse all your original gaskets. just because you "built" it at 145k miles and it made it to 150k? lol. you are a joke.
Good good, im glad. Too many people dont know what theyre doing when modding these cars and blow them up and get them bad names because they think it was the car, or the engine being crappy....the engines are bulletproof, and if you mod you HAVE to know what your doing
Nice run. Check out my vids. I have similar mods but with a VS cam and 3.3 Pulley. I'm expected to run a High 12, but Your setup seems just as quick. Good job tuning
