@BipolarStateofBeing Dont listen to that idiot. That his perception, he is wrong. Also there is no such thing as a "normal healthy woman". As long as you feel comfortable and make others feel good, that is all that matters.
BTW you look very secure and together in your other vids too.
I hate idiots like this guy, if you were not so secure with urself, idiots like him can make u feel insecure.
@BipolarStateofBeing I hope you don't get mad at me for saying this but its not suggested that you drink alcohol while on anti-psychotic meds. In other words, they don't mix well. I know because I've read the labels and from firsthand experience it can exacerbate any type of underlying mental health problems you're dealing with at the time. I'm just saying this because I care you're an adult and have to make YOUR OWN DECISION.
cheers from Colombia! you talked about the winter...do you get depressed during it? do you follow the seasonal pattern? because what you don´t get during the winter is vitamin D... sometimes supplementing during the dark days is wise... you can get a blood test 4 that, i did it and came low even living in the tropics
Be careful with alcohol, even though you might think that it is helping you sleep it actually interferes with the good parts of your sleep cycle. Congrats on the puppy, I love Great Danes. I know that my dog is a huge help in keeping a good schedule. Good luck with quitting smoking!
Havent wrote you in a while. I'm not sure where to start on my video blogs. Yeah winter is coming fast all at once. Quitting smoking is not easy for anyone. I got a letter today about my Diagnosis and all to give to my college counselor. I had a car wreck 2 weeks ago and went into a depressed state. My psychiatrist upped my depikote to 2000mg a day and seroquel 300mg and celexa 20mg. So maybe I'll bounce back soon.
@updownjunkie I admit I do drink more than I probably should. I usually use it as a sleep aid, because I'll have a few beers and go right to sleep after that. I know it is a bad habit to get into though.
@BipolarStateofBeing Ur poetry is amazing, I just read it on ur blog. Have you ever thought of sending it to a publisher to see what they think? I got the highest grade in English Literature in the UK, and ur poetry is seriously good, its better than Sylvia Plath or Philip Larkin in my view.
@Jairzinho121 Thanks so much for your compliments and for visiting my blog. I've never tried to have it published. Maybe it's something I should look into.
@updownjunkie i drink everyday and im bipolar, doesn't affect me to negatively, just makes me sleepy, clumsily and kinda happy. i just keep from drinking until im ready to go to sleep. i never dink during the day. as far as it causing manic or hypomanic depressed episodes i think not. never has alcohol did that to me. as matter of fact alcohol chills me the fuck out.
@dustin741 It chills you out while it's in your system, but it's after you've had it and sobered up later that it affects u negatively and little by little it will make your bipolar worse. This is something I have come to realize through my own eperiences and watcing my father drink for many years. Also, hard drugs like cocaine are probably even worse. You should really consider quitting, not to mention what drnking every day will do to your liver.
Drinking....your composure was very good. About Zyprexa, My doc just put me on it 10 mgs at night along with Pristique and my other meds. yeah you have a sense of realness that most people don't show! I was on zyprexa from may 2000 until spring of 2006 and it probably is the best med I have been on thus far.
try the nicotine gum it worked for me. you don't look too drunk, i know what you mean about the winter although in england they are not that bad as you get in america. but i don't like the winter the dark mornings are hard, but i have to get up to get the children ready for school. try to get out through the winter with your family although your children are abit small mine are 10 and 8 we take them out for a meal to the pub, i love getting dressed up and going out, staying in all winter no no.
@TJMK2007 Thanks. I am doing well. Things are going great with the puppy, we have had her about 3 weeks. And I didn't shower because I was just feeling lazy. Did get myself into the shower the next day though :P
Havebeen to Tromso Norway. is no sunlight for almost 2 months. I visited the town once in June. Then the sun never set for 2 months! Absolutely crazy. There is a midnight marathon there. Running a marathon in the middle of the night normally would people think you are crazy. In Tromso, us great BP individuals, are not conisdered strange whatever what mood we might be in since people in general are so used to extremes (darkness/sun) so they do not notice when we switch to highs or to lows. ;-)
@apotheker73 It is the same where I live, very little light in the winter and extreme light in the summer. Makes the summers great but sometimes the winters can be hell. I just count down to the shortest day when I know we will be gaining light again...gives me something to look forward to!
Someone talked about alcohol and Zyprexa. It is not a good combination. You must be carefull. Ask your psychiatrist/doctor and for advice regarding if you can drink or not. I am on Lithium, Lamictal, amitriptylin (Saroten), Efexor (venlafaxine). I "only" drink wine. Once or twice per week. And maximum 2 glases. ). I have asked my doctor and she said this was ok, for me. So ask your doctor (you probably already have). Enough of that. I feel lika a parent: "do do that, do this andt that" bla bla.
Thank you for your videos...vlogs! They are of great value for me to since I can relate to a lot of things you say. It is helpfull for me to listen to your experiences! It is not easy to find some who is bipolar. It would be weird to go out on the street and ask everyother people "hey excuse me but may I ask if you have BP. And if you do, come eith me and tell me your story". I do not think it would work....or...maybe I should try... ;-).
@apotheker73 That's a funny thought, asking people on the streets. :P I know what you mean though. It is hard sometimes to connect with others who are experiencing the same things. Thats why I think youtube is so great.
Drinking alcohol is very dangerous with prescription medicine . I am not judging you but please dont make a habit of it . Lost two friends to this concoction . The fact that you havent showered is not a good sign . Wishing you the best .The added animal is awesome, but it just adds more responsibility to your schedule . Best of luck Nicki . Wish you the best .
Does Zypexa get affected by drinking? I'm currently on Risperdal cuz of its anti-mania properties but you're supposed to not drink, I'll admit it I cheat, and it makes me get drunk faster.
lol, you look happy! ...thanks for making videos, they are part of the reason why I decided to start making my own!! :) hope you keep feeling happy :)
