The V-wings actually never used full bodied astromechs. They used Q7 astromechs, which were kind of like the modified R4 units that the Jedi used in their delta 7 starfighters. Except the Q7 droids were spherical and could exit the fighter and float. Still looks like a good set.

i like the new v-wing its more detailed and it looks more like an empire ship while the old one looks more like a phase 1 clone starfighter (plus you get a clear pice which is always nice).
